The other day I was wondering what I could write about! Yes I was a lost for a blog post! Hard to imagine when normally I can write about anything and everything. But I have covered so much lately here at New Life on the Road, so much so that I was wondering what you all wanted to know! I jumped onto facebook and asked if there was Any Question that you all wanted Answered.
Any Question Answered Here!
After putting out there the idea that you could have Any Question Answered I was surprised with what people wanted to know. Maybe I should ask more often, and that way I could get more ideas on what to write about! A few of the questions that were asked have already been answered in the following vlog so I thought instead of me answering them again I would share the vlog here!
First Question Answered Right Now!
Question from Kama with her gorgeous site “Creative Inner Child” Q “I am wondering how you all fit in the bus. If it feels claustrophobic? Does everything have to be tied down etc?
Question Answered “We can fit into the bus for Breakfast time and for talking/homeschooling. For sleeping we have Nicholas on the top bunk bed, Kyle on the bottom Bunk Bed and Cameron sleeping on the lounge. Zac is still out in the big family tent that we have. David wants to build a trailer that holds the car, and will have another set of bunk beds. If the trailer can be fitted out, it will have a storage area and maybe another toilet/shower combo”
“Feeling Claustrophobic? Not yet…well I don’t but David will tell the boys to head outside for breakfast and doesn’t like anyone in the kitchen while he is cooking porridge. I think he finds the lack of space a bit too much, but I am fine as I prefer to have my boys around me. I actually think is better because their is no big house that takes up all of my time cleaning, and I can spend more quality time with our boys (they are all not spread out in a huge house!).
“With regards to having everything tied down – All the kitchen cupboards have the non slip mats inside on each shelf. Everything that is sitting out (either on the beds, kitchen benches or bedside cupboards) will have to be put away while on the road. We have a wall clock and it will depend on how we travel on what roads, to it staying there or having it put under the kitchen cupboards. I would love to have photos of my family up on the walls but David says that they will break, or fall off. I guess we will work out what needs to be put away, tied down or left out as we drive down the road on Wednesday 31st August!
Another Question Answered
Annette Tom Colley from “Mum, Dad, 3kids and dog and a great big bus Question “How do you keep the kids entertained without dvds and ds games?
Question Answered “The boys are allowed to watch a DVD on Davids computer, after they have finished their school work for the day, and their chores. We are very lucky because our boys prefer to be outside, and have 10 acres to run on. We have a dam that they can use our canoe in, and then we have a park around the corner. Down the very back there is also a river where Nicholas is able to go fishing whenever he wants. Kyle who is 6 years old loves to ride his bike, so most days he is out there on his bike. Cameron who is 9 years old loves reading, you will find most days he is reading a book. Zachery, who is 15 loves cooking. A few days a week he is in the kitchen cooking afternoon tea or desserts for that night. Hayden who is 17 (and is no longer living at home) is now so busy with working that he doesn’t get up to much unless he has a day off!”
“Our boys are out door type of kids, and keeping them still for homeschooling is a challenge every morning. Zachery is self-taught, which means he is given his books for the day and he goes somewhere quiet and is finished in next to no time. Nicholas knows that he has to do homeschooling to go fishing (some days he gets it done quickly, other days he is still getting it done at dinner time!) Cameron will do his schooling if he sits next to me, in the Motor-home straight after he wakes up (of course after he has eaten breakfast!). Kyle gets his homeschooling done (most times) with Daddy while sitting on our bed”
