When we stayed at Moonan Cottage New South Wales we were given ideas of what to see and do while there. The wonderful owner partner let us know what was in the area – and Barrington Tops seemed such a beautiful place to drive to!
I do know that in the snow the road is closed down and the gates are locked. And when we were traveling up there we noticed a lot of 4wd going through so they must use the road to get home or to travel to the next town.
There is also a forest up there that I will share in the next blog post – wished I had taken a video of the forest cause it was extra spooky and I kept waiting for a monster to jump out and scare us.
Considering it was not snowing it was still super cold up there, and we were very quick with our walks around before heading back to the warm car.
As we drove around one very tight bend we noticed a white 4wd had left the road and was stuck in a tree. Not sure when or who was in the car, sure hope everyone was okay, but it reminded us to be very careful on the dirt road and to be super careful on the bends.
Barrington Tops was gorgeous – would love to visit again. There are camping grounds where you can stay but I wouldn’t want to sleep there in the snow unless it was in a Motorhome with heating inside! Or if you are game you could rug up in swags 🙂
Have You Been To Barrington Tops?
We have heaps more to share from our stay at Moonan Cottage New South Wales, with details of the inside of the sweet cottage and the river bed behind the property where the boys went gold fossicking.
