Since we started our “New Life on the Road Journey” we have had many Birthday Celebrations together. While on the Road Birthdays are the same for our family – only we now have added a new tradition to the day.
Birthday Celebrations
Our family have had a few Kids Birthday Parties over the years, but mostly we celebrate together as one unit. We used to do big Fancy children’s Birthday Cakes but now we keep it simple.
Here is How Our Family Celebrate Birthdays:-
- Birthday person is allowed to have whatever they like for Breakfast.
- They open up their presents (all sitting on our bed)
- Then we head out the door to wherever the Birthday Person would like to go to.
- Birthday Person gets to choose what to have for dinner – they chose and either David or I cook it!
- They even get to pick out their own Birthday Cake.
Here Is What Each Of Our Boys Like For Their Birthdays:-
Zachery:-
- Breakfast – omelette
- Dinner – Chicken fettuccine
- Going Out and About – Movies!!
Nicholas:-
- Breakfast – Hotcakes or Pancakes
- Dinner – Steak or Roast Dinner
- Going out and About – anything to do with fishing!
Cameron:-
- Breakfast – Hotcakes (David makes the most yummiest light fluffy hotcakes I have ever tasted!!)
- Dinner – Steak and Chips
- Going out and about – Roller Skating (he has never done that before, but has decided that he wants to for his birthday in November!) We usually take him to the park for his Birthday
Kyle:-
- Breakfast – Pancakes
- Dinner – Chips and Fish (not sure why but that is what Kyle calls them!)
- Going out and about – to the beach or to the park.
New Birthday Idea
Yesterday we did something different for a Birthday Celebration. David came home at 2.00am (yes he left work before 6.00am for the very first time ever!) so that he could get some sleep before getting up to take me out for lunch. We all went to the local Pub for Lunch.
I was over the moon surprised because we don’t normally celebrate my Birthday with going anywhere special (normally we stay home and David cooks the most yummiest meals!)
Kyle And Me ~
Its funny but we hardly have any photos of us all together!
Kyle, Mum (Me!) and Cameron ~
Two of us wearing red for Baby Elijah Rainbow Fisher
Davids Meal ~
He ordered Calamari and Salad!
Then we came home, David made me a coffee and we had cake that one of our boys made!
My Birthday Cake ~
Thanking my gorgeous sons for making it!
Yes it was yummy and nope we didnt have enough candles for the cake!
He even sent me a text message last night – saying he loves me with “xxxx” 🙂
So our Birthday Celebrations while living on the Road are getting better every year. From Zachery Skydiving Birthday Wish to Kyle Cape Hillsborough Bush Walking Day out to now Cameron wanting to go Roller Skating – wonder what we will do for David’s Birthday at the end of the year!
How Do You Celebrate Your Family Birthdays?
Cheers
