Campervan Curtains

When we purchased our Campervan back down in Wollongong it came with some really rough thin curtains that had no backing, and was hand stitched. Actually I am surprised that they were able to hang up without falling down!

The sun would come in at the crack of dawn, and it would wake us all up way too early. I have been wanting to make new Campervan Curtains for so very long but seen as how I am not a sewer I kept on putting it off. Now its a matter of they have to be done.

I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on fabric so I hit up all the op shops in Bundaberg. Found the Green Curtain Material for $8.00 and the Brown Curtain material for $3.00. I still to re-do the section that divides the front from the back because I ran out of material and we want to really makes sure the sun can’t get through any cracks.

So happy with how they all turned out, and happy with how dark it is now in the Campervan, and not fussed that they do not match 🙂

CAMPERVAN CURTAINS FISNISHED

Oh and the chair pads we also got from Salvos for $3.50 each, they will be covered in Blue Fabric so that if they get dirty I can wash them  🙂

THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW AND SLIDING DOORS

Sorry about the mess – David’s Work tools and Esky are in the back. The Mattress folds down on the Storage box and middle seat to make the bed.

Not Enough Curtain Material

THE CURTAINS BETWEEN THE FRONT SEATS AND BACK SEATS

I am going to have to source more Curtain Material for the section that divides the back to the front seats because I didn’t have enough material. Actually I took the pattern from the previous curtains and made these – which goes to show that they were really short and not useful.

Now we have the Campervan Curtains done David is working on the Carburetor as it is running really rough and chewing up the Petrol. Fingers crossed he can put all the parts together, and it works again! And we can save money on fuel – its going through a tank of fuel really quickly, and we can smell it burning as we pull up.

Super glad I was able to complete the Campervan Curtains in one day – and will be happy when I find either Brown or Black or Green Material to finish off the last curtain! At least I know that when we are free camping the Sun won’t come through the windows at the crack of dawn 🙂

Have You Made Motorhome Curtains?
