** Update ** We no longer have Red Caravan Curtains. Keep reading and you will see that we now have Grey Caravan Curtains that are made for Caravan Windows.
We even have more storage space added to our motorhome. And we had a Wedding Anniversay in the same week as trying to sort out our Motorhome Curtains.
Our Motorhome has changed over the course of us living in it full time, and we now have two rescue dogs with us. I didn’t want to delete all of this post, and thought it would be easier to upload the newer colour scheme.
Today we all drove into Bundaberg and looked at Caravan Curtains – material or blinds was my thoughts for the last two weeks?
After asking a few friends (so love facebook fanpages!) , and others who are traveling around Australia what they thought was the best option – Material Curtains won hands down!
So into Bundaberg we headed…into Spotlight were we had a long time looking around for the best material and what would look the best for our Caravan Curtains.
Shopping For Caravan Curtains
After deciding to go with Curtains for our RV/Motorhome I asked for advice on our facebook fanpage what colours should we use. The Bus is being totally re-built to be more modern and safe.
David is making new cushions to go on the new lounges that he has built. It means that we will have seat belts for all five of our boys. The colour for the lounge chairs is black – plus his brand new drivers chair is also black.
The overhead cupboards have all been changed from sliding doors to doors that open up, and are white. The wall linings are white and are fully lined. The new windows are tinted and will have fibre glass trims around them.
The Outside Of our Motorhome!
The kitchen Benches will be black, with a brand new cook top and range hood on the passenger side of the bus.
The oven has been sold, so David has filled that space with a brand new cupboard. The bunk beds have new bases, and will have grey marine carpet on the sections of wood that are already there (saving David from rebuilding them).
The Motorhome is beginning to take shape!
The queen size bed down the back has been totally rebuilt and raised to give us more boot space – which is where our front loading washing machine will be going.
Curtains That Match The Colours
After rebuilding the white cupboards at the back of the bus and the over head cupboards are also white I asked for advice on what colour to have for Caravan Curtains.
-
Do I go with grey, black, blue, light grey?
-
Or Red?
I so love the black/white/grey clour scheme that we are having through out the bus.
Haha now we no longer have the red but do have the grey colour scheme! If you are not sure on how to make your curtains for your Motorhome or Caravan there is an easy book “First Time Window Treatments : The Absolute Beginners Guide” * please note – we do get a small commission from the purchase of the book, it won’t affect your purchase but will help keep this blog going, so a massive thanking you*
New Kitchen Benches!
I wanted Caravan Curtains that would keep out the sun and heat, so they have to be lined. David also wanted sheer curtains so that they can give us some more privacy throughout the day – especially for the times that we are parked next to another family!
David cutting the Caravan Curtains!
I thought that because the windows are tinted that we would only need curtains, but after he took me out to the bus the other night I soon realised what he meant – its totally see through!
The Back window with Sheer Curtains!
Here are the end results…red curtains, black lounges, white kitchen cupboards!

Caravan curtains are those curtains which are used in vans or motor homes. So we always search for high quality caravan curtains which will resist dust and sunlight from outside. Thanks for sharing such a valuable post.
Hi David
I am check out curtains For our caravan .
Question: what type of curtain tracks did you use as our caravan walls a ply wood?
Hi Gayle,
Its Lisa Here 🙂 David says “I didn’t use Curtain tracks because I made Curtain Pelmets with Curtain wire screwed up underneath. With your Caravan Ply Wood walls you might want to look at using Curtains Wire as well, it depends on how thin your walls are? Or maybe you could make Pelmets like we did and hide the wire underneath. Normally in Caravans there are timber studs running down each side of the window frame in the wall, thats the best point to attach commercialized Curtains tracks or home made Pelmets like I have done.”
Hope that helps 🙂
Cheers
Lisa
It’s call micro track, used in caravans and trucks
What material did you use for the bed base.

We used 18mm Pine Plywood 🙂
