The Windows We Used Are No Good

In our renovations with our Motorhome David wanted windows from one Company but they didn’t have them in stock at the time so we went with Aussie Travelers Windows. Which was fine until we wanted customer service.

Well to be honest we haven’t been impressed with the quality of these windows from the moment they went in. They lost their Strip down the edge – the Fluffy strip that is attached to the part of the window that protects it as it slides when you are opening it and closing it. Which means that its scratched every single time you opened it and closed it.

Then there is the fact that our wind out windows down the back flyscreen has come away from the window – and it can’t be replaced easily.

Small Motorhome Water Tanks

Now that our Motohrome is back David has been super busy trying to work on the issues that we have always had, and have always put up with! You know that saying “Never enough time when you have the money, and never enough money when you have the time” – yeah we have had lots of projects needed to be done on our Motorhome that the very Small Motorhome Water Tanks have always been pushed to the side and forgotten about!

The tanks have started leaking again – they leaked on/off over the years and he has repaired them that many times that its not worth fixing. He pulled the three tanks out – way to small for our sized family – and decided one of them is beyond repairing and has left the other two sitting in the grass underneath to see if the leak is now fixed.

Black Forest Cake Gluten Free

David is our Cook in our family – I cook because I have to, he cooks because he wants to. And he experiments, adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that until he gets the recipe right. I cook the recipes I know, stick to them and don’t experiment with any new ingredients!

Now that we eat mostly “Gluten Free” and try to stay Sugar Free as much as possible he has lots of ingredients, and lots of ideas and puts them together. Sometimes they don’t work out {He is still experimenting with his Gluten Free Sugar Free Bases for his Pumpkin Pies}, sometimes they do work out and taste amazing.

Davids Birthday Breakfast And Dinner

Last weekend was David’s Birthday. He didn’t want to celebrate it with any fuss so I wasn’t allowed to mention to family or announce it online. So I respected his wishes and I didn’t even speak with our oldest boys to let them know – he didn’t want gifts. He wanted a day of fun, a day spent with family and Breakfast/Dinner with his favourite foods.

I was joking with him about “Getting Old” – but in actually fact he is not getting old, its only a number and you can feel as young as you like! Its actually a mindset thing – you can feel as older then age or even younger then your age. He says that he still feels like he is 21, but seen the ages of our oldest Woody Sons are around that he can’t be!

Cooking Dinner On Our Choofer

David loves cooking. He creates meals out of the raw ingredients that could easily be added to menu’s in Restaurants, or even in a Food Van! I think he is wasting his cooking skills but we are working towards sharing them soonish. The following dish was a Creamy Mustard Vegetarian meal that was the best we have ever eaten! I think its because of the “Woody” smokey taste to the dish!

We have shared Making Dinner Outside The Motorhome before – cooking our favourite dishes and sharing them! As soon as we got our Motorhome back we all were keen to have our Choofer out of the Boot and our boys collected the wood from the paddock asap so that we could fire it up!

Our Motorhome Is Back

We have tried to have Our Motorhome back with us {since December it has been stored}. Not sure if any of our friends realised but David went down to Sydney a few months ago to replace the Fuel Injector Pump with the one that was always in the Bus – it had been rebuilt a few times and cost over $2000,00 {I think it was closer to $3000.00} but was still not working.

When he went down {a few months back} and fitted the Injector back into the Motorhome she was still making a weird noise, and he was not sure if the problem was fixed. But decided to see if he could bring her home and hit the highway. But soon realised that there was an issue and so he had returned back to the Storage Facility.

What To Keep When Downsizing

On the weekend we helped two beautiful people with getting as much done as possible because they needed to move out of their house. And I was itching to pack up their “Shed” which was a “homeschool Room” – now a store room but there was only so many hours in one weekend, and only so much two mamas could do! Maybe another time we will get back there and help them out again {we love them so we would help them all any time they asked}

And I was helping them move down as many “Storage Cupboards” as possible to to their new home – Storage is really important when you downsize but it got me to thinking about when we had to downsize our massive 4 bedroom house {it had two lounge rooms and massive verandas} and David {and our boys} are hoarders so we had a lot of stuff to sort through. And had to think about Motorhome Storage Space.

The Cost Of Living On The Road

Yesterday I was asked to do a Radio Interview for Wave FM Breakfast Show in Wollongong. A phone interview. At first I said No. They contacted us through our Facebook page, and thought our story/journey of buying/living in a motorhome was inspirational.

I answered with the following “Hi Russell,  Thanking you so much for touching base. But we are no longer in Wollongong – we are on the Sunshine Coast. And our motorhome broke down so its being stored in New South Wales while we are waiting on the parts to be fixed! I am not that inspirational at the moment cause we are kinda stuck without our motorhome. We hope to be back in it by June”

Its My Bus And I Am Going To Cry If I Want To

Normally I am the strong one in our family – The One Who Has To Hold The Shit Together when its hitting the fan. The one who finds solutions when there is an issue to deal with, the one who looks at the bigger picture and finds answers that will work.

Yesterday, My cup was empty, and there was nothing to refill it back up.

Well Friday I didn’t. I didn’t hold it together at all. Its My Bus And I Am Going To Cry If I Want To !!! You see I had unpacked our Campervan stuff back into our Motorhome Monday morning. I had packed up our Motorhome for a trip north – we were going to head out on the road either Wednesday or Thursday.

Fixing The Springs

David was able to organise through his ex-Boss to have our Springs repaired/rebuilt. David from Keep On Travelling knew basically everyone in the Wollongong area so it made it so much easier {and cheaper} to get all of our major work done – quality work at cash prices is the only way to go.

Fixing The Springs on the front was a lot easier then the back ones – only because of the weight issues. They were heavy in the front, and had to be lifted with a Pulley System that David rigged up. But the Back ones were twice as heavy and were harder for David to move around.
