On Sunday we started to explore the Clermont area! With three very excited boys we had purchased a Gold Mining Kit plus we purchased a Gold Pan, the previous day, with the intention of spending the day looking at the designated General Permission Areas.
With the attention span that they all have, we spent a few hours Gold Mining! David even found a speck of gold ~ mind you if you blinked you would miss seeing the speck. Even though it was far too small we have kept it in a zip locked sandwich bag, with the date/place written on it with Permanent Marker. After all it was a moment in time where we created another experience for our family!
Centenary Park Clermont
Means Fun for Kids! Yep we ended up heading back into town. The clouds that were coming in also determined where we spent our afternoon. David and I thought for sure that if we had stayed down the dirt tracks we would soon get stuck ~ yet those clouds never came in 🙂
We Were So Surprised
I think that the playground in Centenary Park Clermont must be new as the equipment looked in top condition with a huge shed over head ~ perfect for those hot summer days!
Kyle ~ Playing at the Playground~
He loved this animal equipment!
The Lagoon Surrounding the Playground ~
Great walkways and Lest We Forget Plaques to Read!
Great Huge Sun Shed ~
Fantastic for those hot sunny days!
Playing Music in the Park ~
Lots of fun!
Riding a motorbike ~
safer than riding a normal motorbike!
Playing and Creating Games ~
Cameron is looking through a blue Kaleidoscope….where you get to see lots of the same images! They realised that there was “Lots of Mummy’s Taking a Photo of them” 🙂
Big Over head Shed ~
Great shade for the hot summer days. It must get really hot out at Clermont because all of the grass was very dry!
Centenary Park in Clermont was a great way for our boys to run off their energy and to have fun together. We soon had to leave as we needed to get back to Theresa Dam ~ David didnt want to be cooking in the Dark. Before we left we did go for a short walk ~ reading and seeing the Lest We Forget Memorial Area.
Do You Like New Playgrounds?
Cheers

New Life on the Road
Hi Lisa, Our days in playgrounds are over (until we get grandkids that is!), but when our kids were small we stopped at nearly every one we saw. The cover is a great idea.

Hi Jan,
What fun you will have with Grandkids 🙂
The cover was brilliant for QLD hot sun.

Our son used to live in Florida near Orlando, Florida. The park near their apartment was completely renovated and the playground looked very much like your new playground, minus the shed. I think it may have been larger, but the ground covering looked very similar. I know our grandkids had a wonderful time there until they moved.
Hi Wilma,
Playgrounds are so magical for kids! Amazing to think that a Playground in Florida is almost like one in Australia ~ that is so very cool.
How nice for you to see your grandkids having fun.
Cheers

I still remember visiting Sovereign Hill as a child with my family and panning for gold. Our kids love the trees at the pirate park and also at New Farm park. I remember how shocked I was to see the playgrounds in Italy compared to ours, they are basic to say the least.
Glad to always catch up on your news and see those gorgeous boys
ciao love lisa x

Hi Lisa,
That would be so cool ~ having memories of your childhood gold panning days! Yeah I cant imagine not having a great playground to play in ~ our boys love to explore.
Loved your amazing blog post about the place that was never completed and the family that never got to enjoy it. Such amazing history!
Cheers
