On the Weekend I had to be in Brisbane for the Saturday and Sunday…I thought about staying somewhere/anywhere with my campervan but I couldn’t find somewhere close enough to Brisbane so I booked a hotel room for the one night. And yeah funny enough I didn’t take any photos of that hotel room but hey never mind…its the weekend that was important.
I was down there for Personal Reasons {something I will share later at the end of this year} and connected with the most amazing people – the weekend was actually really good because I could meet people with my name and not with my website name {they still don’t know that I blog} See I am a really shy person by nature so I don’t tell people that I am blogging unless they already know about it!
And it was a weekend of connecting with people in life, it was so soul satisfying.
On the Saturday night I had to book into my hotel room by 6.00pm. With another wonderful Mama we caught a bus to the hotel room, checked in and then walked down the road to the Eat Street Market Brisbane {its located in Hamilton – along the Portside Wharf}
The Markets are set up within Shipping Containers – each one is then set up with cooking different foods! Yes Food Porn in one location….I was over the moon with drooling at each different shipping container – I cant wait to go back with Hubby and our kids, this is one place I know that we will all love!
Yep this is two shipping container {one on each side} with a cover over head. Then fairy lights added, with Table/Chairs made out of recycled materials, with fake grass covering the milk crates for some of the seats! Such a novel way of eating, and yet it was perfect.
The Chocolate Fountain with Fruit covered in Chocolate….oh yes please! Maybe next time with hubby we can share one together.
Yes this is one groovy Shipping Container – With Dancing Girls serving up cakes! Its called “World Famous Funnel Cakes” – a bit like a donut scoped out and filled with yummy toppings is the best way I can describe this dessert.
This was the most amazing Lemon Meringue Donut that I have ever had, it was Gluten free but not sugar free, but so very worth it!
The Eat Street Market Brisbane are one that I highly recommend. If you are in the Brisbane area, or can get down that way or will make a trip then I suggest you check out Eat Street Market Brisbane – its on every Friday and Saturday night from 6.00pm to 10.00pm – the best food choices, the most incredible shipping containers stores set up, the most amazing drinks/desserts…and the atmosphere is suitable for all – families were there, young uni students, couples….anyone and everyone is able to experience a wonderful night.

New Life on the Road
My friend told me about Eat Street when she went there a couple of weeks ago. She didn’t mention they were in shipping containers. That makes it much more interesting. They have a pop up city in Christchurch (after the earthquake) that is a whole range of shops in shipping containers – and it looks fantastic. I look forward to going there when we are next in Brisbane.

Oh that pop up city in Chirstchurch would be ideal for them to recover after the earthquake.

I just love the street food of Australia. I used to visit Eat Street Market in weekends with family. Your experience through this Photographs you shared are awesome. It reminds me of my visit to Eat Street Market and I have a mouth watering now.
Thanks Samantha – there was so many different food choices – I reckon that even if you went once a month you still could find something “new” each time 🙂
