We have had a Flat Stanley all the way from Florida USA for the last few months. And its visited so many places {yes it even went on Our First Family Cruise}. Now its going on one more adventure with us on Monday night and then its time to send it home.
We took it to the Glasshouse Mountains Camping Trip, to the Science Centre, and it even climbed Mt Ngungun. The other day it even went to the beach with us!
Its been to the Homeschooling End of Year Party!
And its seen better days {yeah it got sea sick on the last day of the cruise but then again we all did}. We got Kyle’s Adventure Boy back a few weeks ago, with some amazing information about where it had been so now I am going to have to put together photos and stories about how Flat Stanley Visits Bundaberg and all of its other amazing trips.
Flat Stanley is based on a Book that we have been reading to Kyle – there is a great series of them! Its written by Jeff Brown, featuring Stanley Lampchop.
“Stanley Lambchop and his younger brother Arthur are given a big bulletin board by their father to display pictures and posters. He hangs it on the wall over Stanley’s bed. During the night the board falls from the wall, flattening Stanley in his sleep. He survives and makes the best of his altered state, and soon he is entering locked rooms by sliding under the door, and playing with his younger brother by being used as a kite. One special advantage is that Flat Stanley can now visit his friends by being mailed in an envelope. Stanley even helps catch some art museum thieves by posing as a painting on the wall. Eventually, Stanley is tired of being flat and Arthur changes him back to his proper shape with a bicycle pump”
