While we fast travelling from Queensland to New South Wales David was looking out for a Pie shop. He had been there when he was on the way back from picking up our Motorhome (we purchased it from eBay and it was located in Batemans Bay) – when we our “New Life on the Road” really started!
Trying To Find Fredo Pies
David couldn’t remember where Fredo Pies was located, we were looking out for it in every town we went to. We even delayed our lunch on the Sunday thinking we were closer to the location, but ended up with Subway because it was past lunch time and we were all staving!
Finding it the next day, after staying at Gumma Crossing Reserve the night before, we realised it wasn’t even lunch time yet, but we knew we had to stop. David raved about the different types of pies, so we were all keen on trying them out.
OH My Gosh….there was pies, and there was more pies – we so could not decide what to have – they can easily make 50 different types of pies, and in one day can have at least 20 different ingredients.
We were all in pie heaven….
We took ages to decide which pie to buy!
If we could have we would of purchased the family sized pie for dinner, but we were not sure how to cook it that night – but I never ever thought about it….why didn’t we buy one and freeze it for later on?
With all the choices, what does Kyle choose?
Kyle LOVES sausage rolls –
we tried to get him to try one of the pies, and try something different but he knows what he wants!
While we are eating our early lunch we were looking at the wall – the wall on the outside of the building…trying to find animals that are hiding in the trees, and the water fall!
Fun place to sit n eat!
It was so worth the early lunch! It was so worth us stopping and trying out new flavours.
Our boys tried Crocodile, Kanagroo, Curried Chicken and even Veggies in Garlic Sauce. David tried Lamb in Mint Sauce, while I tried Curry Chicken.
Have you stopped at Fredo Pies?
If so what is your favorite?

Lisa
thank you for your nice comments on Fredo pies, I have just come across your comments and pictures. looks like you had a great trip I’m pleased that we are amongst your good memories. We have now been bypassed with the opening of the new section of highway being opened just before Easter. We have licensees in other shops at Tuggerah, east Maitland, Nambucca heads, and Cowper(north of Grafton). Our Frederickton shop is still open, though trade is down 58% since the new road opened.
I hope that you will call in on us again if you are passing this way, please ask for me, Nola, as I would love to meet you and shout you a free coffee.
regards to you and your family
