Still trying to catch up on our Trip from Easter Time!! How is it possible to already have a month go by since we had four days with our family Camping at Hill End? At this rate it will be Christmas before we know it 😉
Golden Gully Hill End ::
After checking out the Merlins lookout we headed to Golden Gully Hill End to explore the many different tunnels, and hidey holes that were created on the side of mountains of dirt. It looked like a great place for Hide n Seek, mind you were didn’t stay long enough to play games because all of our boys were itching to go Gold Mining.
Golden Gully ~ Almost looks like Golden Arches!
The History of how the Golden Gully started, and how it has been mined over the years…interesting that it has worked and reworked many times, makes you wonder if there is any gold left?
Nu Chip ~ he made a living from selling Vegetables and fossicking, until his Dealth in 1936 at the old of 104…wonder what his secret was?
There was so many tracks to explore, with lots of tunnels, caves and off the beaten paths to explore, I think that we could return to Golden Gully for a whole day of walking….there is so much to see.
Kyle has his angel with him…..over looking his exploring spirit. I have never ever seen his “Angel” this large  before….he must have needed it while we were exploring Golden Gully in Hill End.
Watching my boys exploring with their Dad made the weekend perfect. It was a camping trip that had so many perfect moments over the four days ~ spending time with our second son, watching them all having fun together and learning while exploring. David teaches them all about the landscape of where ever we are, its a homeschooling lesson without them even realizing that they are learning!
We all remarked on the “Golden Gully Arches” – it looks like McDonalds got their inspiration from the Golden Arches!!!
This is the end of our track….we could have stayed and kept on finding more roads to explore, more tunnels and caves but we wanted  to head to the Gold Mining area {where you are allowed to gold mine}. Actually our second son was the most keenest to head off to have a go with our gold detector!
I know that I have shared a lot of photos of Golden Gully Hill End {I have heaps that I have not shared} here at New Life on the Road, its because we all had so much fun looking around, and the Golden Arches took our breathe away. Photos can not really capture the moment but I am hoping that the memories will be strong enough to take us back in time.
Have You Been To Golden Gully Hill End?
Cheers
Lisa
