On Friday afternoon we were rushing around – first stop was the laundry mat. To dry off our very wet clothes! Then it was the post office and into the library at Nambour. We thought that the library closed at 5.00pm and we arrived there at 4.55pm…we jumped out and ran.
Our Love of Reading
Kyle was the only one with Dave and I, so he ran ahead. While David was returning the books (there is a place on the outside of the Library doors where the return books go) Kyle and I rushed inside and selected books to read. He ran to the kids section, while I headed to my all time favorite section – the romance books.
I love Mills and Boons books – its my way of dreaming and escaping from life – but don’t you dare tell anyone!
While I was looking for a book that I have not already borrowed before, I came across a new selection of books. There is a new range of books called “A Little Black Dress Book” – I am not sure when they came out, but I haven’t seen them in the library before.
Italian For Beginners
One book that caught my eye, and I could not resist picking up, was “Italian For Beginners” by Kirstin Harmel. I turned over, and read the book of the book. YEP it was meant to be….
If you are into Romance, and you love Italy – then this book combines the best of both words. Even though I borrowed the Book Late Friday night, I have already finished it!
It also reminded me of a great friend – Lisa from Renovating Italy. If you would like to read about Italy, see photos of Italy and become part of Renovating Italy amazing way of life then please connect with their dream!
Italian For Beginners – a romance book filled with scenes from Italy that will allow you to dream of travelling! You will become part of the book as you follow Cat journey.
From being angry at her Mum (who left the family when Cat was a teenager) to finding out why her Mum returned to the family. Only to die and again leave the family in despair, while Cat is still so angry with her Mum – she never got to resolve any issues.
Cat realised that she had to become the “Mum” figure for her Sister and had to take the road that was full of responsibility and had no time to be the kid.
She begins on a journey of working out who she is, and what she is all about, and finds that her family is in New York as well Italy.
Read about her love affairs, within Italy and of Italy – her favorite all time place is Ponte Sant’Angelo….where she goes to reflect on what her life has become. To then finding out that her late Mothers favorite place is one and the same!
Her love of photography is also explored while she spends time in Italy. It becomes a way of escaping from the different aspects of her childhood, and her way of examing her life in Black/White. Colours soon become ingrained to her thoughts.
The reasons of why her Mum left the family, and then returning where soon discovered, and it helped to heal old wounds.
Then Cat finds herself – who she wants to be, where she wants to be, and with who her heart belongs.
Through the book you will visit the Vatican City, the Colosseum, the rivers, the bridges, gorgeous Churches, and hear all about the people of Italy. Their love, their passion and their way of being in the moment. They speak from the heart, and they speak with their hands – even though they speak Italian you can “Feel” what they are saying.
If there is one book that you would love to read this year then its “Italian For Beginners” by Kristen Harmel. Get your own copy to keep beside your bed! –Italian for Beginners
A little bit of Italy is what every girl needs 🙂
Could You Imagine Yourself Visiting Italy?
