The last two weekends we have been on a mission! To find waterfalls in the Wollongong area. Two weekends ago we thought that we were heading to Cascade Falls but in actually fact we turned left at the bottom of the Macquarie Pass into a path that we all thought we were never ever going to survive….
Actually we didn’t realise that we were on the WRONG path till we got home and I started looking at images on google…..I worked out that we had stumbled upon Jump Rock Pool Waterfall.
With a Track that was meant for the very brave….it was steep, narrow, muddy and lots of rocks to climb over. I winged the whole there and the whole back – was not in a very good mood at all that day!! And vowed never ever to return but I am sure that if I was given a chance to share the experience with the rest of our family that I could possible make the walk once again.

Jump Rock Pool Waterfalls was very busy! Lots of people coming and going.
Its not an easy track, no pram access and little ones need to be good on their feet….make sure you take hats, water, towels and food if your little ones like to snack when they get there.
Its a least an hour of walking on steep narrow pathway, with lots of big trees and rocks. And mud….I walked with no shoes cause my thongs were too slippery to stay on 🙂
Have You Been To Jump Rock Pool?
Location :: At the bottom of the Macquarie Pass. Park on the right hand side of the Road {at the bottom of the Pass}, cross the road and walk towards the sign for the Art Gallery {or was it photo gallery?}
Take the track next to the gallery {over the sign that stats no parking near the entrance to the track} and walk for some time…you will see many others coming and going and will be able to ask “Are We There Yet” like we did….or “how much further” 🙂
With all water falls…there needs to be one at the beginning of the track and at the end…because we got so hot and sticky walking back to the car and could have done with a dip in the nice cool water.
Cheers
Lisa
New Life on the Road.
That’s exactly what I think about swimming holes. You feel beautifully refreshed and then by the time you get back to the car you’re sweating and uncomfortable! Great photos and the kids did so well!

Exactly !! Was very sweaty afterwards . Yeah both boys did way better than I did !!
Oh my gosh, though the landscape was totally different that swimming hole soooo reminds me of a swimming hole in my hometown as a kid. Hey Cameron, you are rockin’ that fedora young man! 🙂 Great post,Lisa 🙂

Thanks Mike, Cameron loved the water and rocks but was not keen on the climb to get there 🙂
We have similar waterfalls and rock pools in N.Q., but they are easier to get to. I wouldn’t have been too keen either Lisa 🙂
