This past week we were in Sydney again, staying with our oldest son. Who is on the mend slowly {back pain and back issues are a tricky business, and his recovery is very slow}
While in Sydney ::
On the Monday night I took advantage of the fact that we had access to a oven! And cooked our boys favorite meal – Chicken Lasagna. Actually I would want an oven just for that meal!!
Yes I dished up Salad and Chicken Lasagna to my oldest son….who has asked us to move in just so that I can cook his meals {cheeky bugger!!}
And yes Hubby just said to me “wow that looks so yummy” – not realising that it was a photo I took of a meal I cooked!!! Guess he has never seen me plate up like that!!!
On Thursday Afternoon ::
I waited for our oldest son to return from work and we all headed on over to La Perouse, where I haven’t been to before but David used to go there when younger. And where we all want to go back to another day because the guided tour sure is something we all want to do.
We only stayed a very short time, we almost froze – all of us! While we were there we seen two wedding parties. What a fabulous place to have photos but gee those poor ladies must have been very brave to brace the cold weather.
Kyle was hoping to go fishing there, and he took his hand reel. But as soon as we got out of the car we all agreed to stay long enough to find out what was there at La Perouse and then jumped back into the car. I tried to take as many pics as possible…
I tried to get a Picture of all three boys but they couldn’t hear me calling them, even standing close enough…the wind was so crazy!
One out of three is better than nothing! Usually I try to capture a picture of them when they are unware that I am there, but sometimes I like to get a picture of them all looking at once. This was not going to be one of those days!
It was so very good having our oldest son with us, and to spend time showing him more of Sydney New South Wales. Yeah he lives in Sydney but he had no idea that La Perouse Bare Island Fort Botany Bay was even there!
So very good to have time with our oldest son, and our younger two enjoyed the time with him. Even though he needed us to help out with meals etc I enjoyed the week as much as my boys did! I am soaking up as much time with our oldest as possible because next year we wont be close to Sydney.
We all walked on the Footpath, While Kyle had to Climb up the rocks to get back to the car! So typically of Kyle – my little explorer.
Its not that focused because I was shaking so much from the cold, and Kyle was running too fast! Oh and I think my lens was a bit dirty 🙁 But I still LOVE this photo of Kyle.
It sure will be good to go back to find out the history of La Perouse, especially for our homeschooling sons.
We are now back at the Motorhome, freezing our backsides off. Its so very cold…windy and rainy here. Gosh I am over winters in New South Wales….bring on Queensland lovely warm weather please!
Have You Been To La Perouse?
How was your week?
Cheers
Lisa

Oh gosh I can’t wait to do the La Perouse tour….its going to be so good to learn the history of how the base was used back in World War II and to hear the stories of what happened to the island over the years.
I too haven’t heard of it until David kept saying “Must take the boys to La Perouse before we leave New South Wales” 🙂
I will always, always associate Botany Bay with the movie Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan! I loved that photo of Kyle running as well, Lisa. I hope your oldest continues to mend and is up on his feet feeling like his old self too. Hey, if you’re going to cook like that you can move in with Phoenix and I ANYTIME!! 🙂 xxx’s! 🙂

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the well wishes for our oldest son, we are thinking his back will heal in its own time.
Kyle is such a free spirit child, and for me to capture that moment in time is priceless.
Send me a ticket and I will be there to cook for you and Phoenix anytime xxx PS – what’s his favorite dish?
Cheers
Lisa xx
