It would be so nice to say that we are Living Like The Rich and Famous but that is so far from the truth that I would be telling you a lie! I would like the rich statement but you can keep the famous bit.
Novotel St Kilda Amazing Room
A few weeks back I was thinking about where to stay while I was in Melbourne courtesy of World Vision and also attending the Digital Conference 2012. I know St Kilda (not really well but I know the main streets!) so I started concentrating in that area. It is the most amazing place – cafes, restaurants, night life, beaches, Luna Park, and I so love the gorgeous culture.
Last time I was in St Kilda I stayed at the amazing Tolarno Hotel. Gosh is that fantastic – the colour scheme sounds really weird but it worked. Every wall had the most amazing Art pieces I have ever seen.
This time I stayed at Novotel St Kilda Beachside Hotel. You know how I so miss my bath tub, well guess what….Novotel had a spa bath in the room that was mine for three days and two nights. With the most amazing bed – I have never ever slept in a bed that was so comfy…actually I ended up forgetting about a walk in the afternoon so that I could catch a few hours sleep. It’s also a hotel that everyone can stay at…not just the rich and famous 🙂
Welcome Gift For When I Arrived ~
The chocolate was so yummy, the Wine I had to leave behind….
as I thought I had too much luggage. Yet my bags were not weighed at the airport!
Friendly Staff Makes A Hotel
What really impressed me was the friendly staff. As I was walking out one morning from the room to the lifts one of the cleaning staff asked how I was! Then she let me know that she would be in later to clean my room…..and they even re-made my bed. Actually they cleaned up my room better than I can clean up our Motorhome. Wonder how we can have a cleaning staff member on board with us!
Oh Me Oh My ~
A bath tub to die for…and Yes I loved every minute of the Spa Bath.
Breakfast Treats
As you know I am not a big Breakfast eater. Give me organic plunger coffee and a green smoothie and I am good until lunch time. Yet I decided that seen as how I was living like the rich and famous for a few days (with no children!) I decided to treat myself to breakfast. So glad I did. They had such a huge selection to choose from – fruit salad to start with then cooked breakfast.
Novotel Breakfast Bar ~
From Toast to cooked Breakfast, Fruit and Cereal…everything you could ever want.
I even decided to be very naughty and have a piece of Fruit Toast…..yep I was full. It was value for money, and something that I would do again – even though I only had time for Breakfast on Thursday morning! Friday Morning I had to rush off to be at the Digital Parents conference…told you that bed was to comfy and I couldn’t get out of it until the last-minute.
Love the Start of Breaky with Fruit Salad.
The Room With A View
The best part (besides having a spa bath) was the Room With A View. I am not sure how many stories up the room was…I know that I was on level six of the hotel, and that I could sit in the lounge chair and see St Kilda Beach. It was beyond stunning. Yep the view was so what I needed while I stayed in St Kilda.
The View from Novotel St Kilda ~
Loved looking out to the beach and beyond.
Actually if there didnt happen to be a bath (thanking you universe that there was!) or yummy food or even top friendly staff….the view would be enough to make me smile.
Would I stay there again? In a heart beat – actually it’s not something that I would have to think twice about. I would happily book in anytime – hey…maybe that could be my one regular trip while travelling around Australia. A trip each year to St Kilda for Digital Parents/Problogger events or to Visit the amazing World Vision Head office.
The Most Amazing Bed I have ever Slept In!
Hi-Ligths of Novotel St Kilda

Family Spirit At Novotel
What really impressed me was that Families are welcome at Novotel. As we have four of our five boys travelling on the road around Australia with us, we love it when we come across a hotel that welcomes children, instead of making us feel like we should keep our kids outta sight!
Kids Corner ~
Looks like so much fun…I so wanted to have my Children ~
just to be able to sit and read a book here!
With Spacious Family rooms, complimentary accommodation and breakfast for up to two children under 16 as well as Late Sunday check out of 5.00pm, Complimentary Nickelodeon Channel and Children’s Play Area….yep our family is now sold on staying at St Kilda Novotel.
What Was The One Thing That I Didnt Enjoy With Staying At Novotel St Kilda?
I think the only thing I didn’t like was not having enough time to be there in the room and enjoy my stay. But that is nothing to do with Novotel, that was a lack of time/too many wonderful things to do.
If I could change one thing it would be to have one more night there so that I could explore St Kilda on Saturday morning, visit markets (in Melbourne) and have the time to sleep in…that Bed – So wish I could take that bed and put it into our Motorhome! It was one of those beds where the mattress folded around you, gave you support and made you feel like you were sleeping on a cloud.
See that cream lounge chair on the left ~
I almost fell asleep relaxing in that very chair while watching TV!
Have You Ever Lived Like The Rich and Famous?
Have You Stayed at Novotel Hotels (around Australia?)…would love to know what your experience was like.
Cheers

Please Note :: Novotel Melbourne St Kilda provided my accommodation for two nights and three days so that my stay was made possible. All thoughts and opinions are my own – I did not get paid to write about the review.
WOW. That is stunning. The view is beautiful. Don’t you love it when Melbourne turns on the weather. Looks like you had fabulous accommodation for the conference. Lucky you 🙂

Looks fantastic! Nothing like getting a great room when you don’t have to share anything. Sure it would be nice to have your significant other along, but sometimes it’s just nice to relax in your own space. The tub looks like the perfect place to do that!

Hi Steve,
So very true – good to be able to relax and chill out 😉 The tub was amazing – would love to experience that anytime!

Love the view, a motel room with an ocean view is fantastic. I will keep the Novotel St Kilda in mind next time I visit Melbourne.
Hi Kerry,
It was gorgeous – such a great hotel, and the bed… I so could have taken that bed home with me! Not sure what it was but it felt like it was wrapping itself around me as I slept.
The view was like the icing on the cake – if you are down in Melbourne check it out!
Cheers
Lisa
Sounds like you had a great time in Melbourne. I love St Kilda, but haven’t stayed at the Novotel yet. Will give it a try next time I have a chance to go to Melbourne.
Hopefully I will have a room with Spa bath as well 🙂

Sounds like you got out of the van and enjoyed some pampering for a few days. And from the look of the sun, the weather even paid off too. Good to hear that the Novotel looked after you – especially in my home state of Melbourne.
But leaving behind the wine… that’s just wrong. 🙂

Hi David,
It was far too quick – but it was a great escape. Looking forward to finding more places to escape to 🙂 I so thought that my luggage was going to be weighed and that is why I left the wine behind…but I so am kicking myself for not taking it!
Cheers

Love the photo of the St.Kilda foreshore, glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
It has great places to dine and great night out, or even catch some live music.
