Today we explored along Mackay Bluewater Quay. We have been driven past it a few times but not stopped and walked along there. So glad we did – never realised how much there was for kids to do! From the walkway, to the Park, to the Statues! Still can’t work out what the Art Sculptures are meant to represent? I tried to find out by asking google but no results turned up to explain what they are meant to be!
Mackay Bluewater Quay
We parked a few streets away and walked on back to the water front. The day was perfect – not too hot and not too cold! And the Sun was out but not biting us. Crossing over the road we came across these Sculptures….
Not sure what these are meant to be?
But Kyle and Cameron loved exploring over them!
Kyle Jumped on up ~
and stayed long enough for one photo!
Then we walked along the water front walkway and found the cutest little playground, with a Hammock and a water feature! Of course Cameron ran straight for the Hammock Chair while Kyle went for the Monkey Bars and then over to the water feature…..
Cameron stated that he wants one of these!
I agree, Hammocks are the best 🙂
We Tease Kyle ~
Calling him our Orangutan as he loves to climb
This was So much Fun~
Kyle walked between the water jets…I had to remind him I didn’t have any more clothes with me.
Blue Waters ~
Such a gorgeous place to visit
After letting our boys play for as long as they wanted they asked to go. We walked slowly back to the car and headed over to Mackay Artspace, which is located near Mackay Library. Very glad we did go there as they had the most amazing Birdwatching Display and in the next room was an exhibition of war photos/videos through Afghanistan. Our boys stayed in that room for so long – fascinated with why the photos were taken, where they were taken and with how the video cameras were turned towards two Soldiers.
Will share more about Mackay Artspace tomorrow! We sure are glad that we decided to head out the door to let David get some much-needed sleep 🙂
Would You Like A Day To Chill Like We Had?
Its so much easier to go out n about with only two kids! Funny enough but we hardly ever go out with all four of them!
Cheers

What a great day – pity David missed it, even if he does need his sleep.

we would love to connect and meet up with other homeschoolers – we have been into Mackay a few times with a homeschooling group! Not sure which homeschooling group it was…have been to the Farley sugar Mill tour (and had such a great time) as well as playgrounds.
Will send you a message to see when you are next getting together.
Thanking you
