It was beyond freezing today. And it rained yet we still sat there listening to music at the Grasstree Beach! It was called “Songs for Sarina” and it was situated at Grasstree Beach Esplande from 12pm to 5pm! It is part of the Mackay Festival of Arts which is holding lots of different events around the area.
Grasstree Beach
We arrived about 1.00pm (yeah we never turn up on time!) and soon realised that we should have worn our beanies, our scalf and had more jumpers! As well as something to help with keeping the rain away. But it was fun for our boys…..
Live Entertainment! ~
She so would have been freezing!
Aboriginal Dancing ~
Teaching the kids there dance moves!
Daddy trying to keep warm~

Cameron and Kyle started to collect coconuts….soon other kids joined in and this was the end result 🙂
Free Event from the Mackay Festival of Arts
The Mackay Region is holding Festival of Arts Earthly Delights from 7 to 22 Junly 2012. With so many different events – free and paid ones. Yesterday they had Earthly Delights in the Mackay Showgrounds from 6.3opm. We were going to go but the cold windy night meant we decided to stay home! So wished we had gone.
They have many programs for the next few weeks…one that I would love to try to see is the Mackay Sugar Classical in the Cane Fields on Saturday 14th July from 3pm to 7pm. It sure looks interesting. To check out more of the Earthly Delights program head over to Feastival Mackay.
Would love to even go to the Progressive Dinner on Sunday 22 July which starts at 6.00pm! It has three secret locations with the magical mystery tour! Would love to be doing that.
Have You Been To The Mackay Festival of Arts?
Cheers

No, I haven’t but it sounds excellent. Hope the weather co-operates for future events!

Me too – its was beyond freezing! Next weekend we hope to go to another event and again its an outdoor one. Fingers are crossed its warmer 🙂
I do enjoy these types of community festivals, although I don’t think I’d have arrived suitably dressed for this one, since I wouldn’t have imagined it being so cold in Mackay! I’m so impressed with the adventure you are having as a family and now I’ve discovered your blog, look forward to following you on this journey.
Hi Naomi.
It was so much fun listening to the music! But gee it was so VERY cold – never expected such cold conditions like we have had while here in Mackay 🙂
Cheers
Lisa
