When we were with our second son he was able to have the weekend with us….and we took him {along with Grandparents} to the Pure Peninsula Honey on the Saturday. Purchased lots of yummy Honey Products – their soap is gorgeous. Unfortunately my Camera Battery died just as we arrived so I never got to capture our visit. Stupid me forgot to pack the charger for it!!
Then on the Sunday We Went To the Melbourne Zoo – it is the Best Zoo ever! There is so much to see – we nearly got to see ALL of the Zoo but we had to leave early to get our Second Son Back to base.
Which means that we must go back to Melbourne Zoo when we are down that way again.
Because our son was turning 18 while still down in Melbourne we gave him his Birthday Present early….a New Camera! Which is where all the following Pictures came from ::
Melbourne Zoo Is The Best Zoo
Love How He Sits ~
So Very Proud as Can Be
Imagine Being Next to Him ~
You can feel his power!
These Guys were so very Cheeky ~
Reminds me of my boys playing!!
Kyle Would LOVE to kiss a Seal ~
He is our Animal Lover 🙂
The Live Seal Show Was Good ~
Gave us all a Good Belly Laugh!
Cameron Says “These are The Blue Penguins” –
Glad he Can Remember!!!
Again Cameron Remembers the Name of This Monkey ~
Its the “Squirrel Face Monkey” –
guess he learnt a lot about animals that day!!
Actually He Is Not IN the Wild !
But You Can Imagine How His World Would Seem 🙂
Cameron Calls these ones “ColourFul Bums Monkey’s” But in actual fact they are part of the Baboon family – called the Mandrill’s Monkey’s
We can’t remember the name of this Monkey? But is it Dexter from “The Night At The Museum”
Otters ~ Sure Look Cute
But Gee They Sure Would Hurt if they were to Bite YOU!!
These Apes Were So Very Playful – they climbed so easily from Rope Swing to Rope Swing. One of their Ropes actually Broke as he was swinging and it made such a loud Nose banging of the Clip onto the Steel Pole.
You could see the shock on the Ape’s Face, as well as making all of us who were watching Jump High from the Bang!!
Love how Tall the Zebras are ~
Yet they Can Walk So Graceful, So Delicate looking.
This Monkey so could have been Kyle’s Twin Brother!! Yep Kyle can climb like this Monkey can, so easily climbing up to the highest tree. Actually Kyle’s Nickname is “Orangutan” because of his hair and his ability to climb up high.
Going to Melbourne Zoo on the Weekend means that we only have to pay for us Adults and Children get in for Free.
Which means we saved a Lot of Money!! Love the idea of a Zoo letting Children in for Free, more Zoo’s should follow the same admission charges and you will have more people going!
We caught a Train from Frankston to Outside of the gates – “Royal Park Station” !
Have You Been To Melbourne Zoo?
Melbourne Zoo Location ::
Elliott Avenue, Parkville 3052. Its Melways reference is 43 E1.
Admission Prices ::
Check out Melbourne Zoo Website for Prices.
Adult :: $26.80
Children :: Free on Weekends and School Holidays.
Thanks Melbourne Zoo for the Fun Day ~ We Will be back another time, maybe spending more time down in the Melbourne Area so that we can have yearly passes to explore the zoo at a more leisurely visit.
Cheers
Lisa

** Linking up with The Weekly Postcard “Going it Alone in Venice“
I loved being taken back to Melbourne Zoo, I was first there about 15 years ago. I remember. My first visit I saw little Yakini, the beautiful baby Gorilla who was made famous by the photo of him with the cold stethoscope (I just posted on Twitter it if you don’t know). Thanks for linking up with #TheWeeklyPostcard
