Every Monday I like to ask another Travelling Family more questions about what they are doing, why they are travelling and a bit more back-ground information about them!
Monday Featured Travel Blogger
This idea was born from something that I remember talking to my late Grandma about! She was a funny sweet little lady (yes she was small in height but gee she made up for it by living life) who loved to travel. Yet she couldn’t travel in the real sense as she was raising two daughters as a single Mum for most of her life, and was working two jobs to keep the family feed.
It was not an easy life but she loved to read. She believed that reading opened up your life to the endless possibilities that was around you. Her favorite books was all about travelling. That is how Monday Featured Travel Bloggers came about – by searching for travellers and asking them to share their life/journey.
Today we are so very proud to be sharing Caz and Craig from Ytravel Blog…..
Q:- When did you and Craig start travelling – was it together or before you got together?
I started in 97 after I graduated from University and was travelling for almost three years. Craig was travelling on short trips away overseas and in Australia, for fun and for rugby league. Then in 2002, 3 days after we married we set off overseas for a five-year honeymoon.
Caz and her Gorgoue Girls ~
Love the idea of visiting Savannah Winery!
Q:- How many different countries have you been to, and how do you plan your travelling (around work commitments or travel because you want to?)
We have been to 37 countries. When working holiday visas were an option for us we would live and work in countries for up to two years at a time. We would travel in the region while living there and then when our time was up we would usually travel for at least 3 months at a time in a certain country or continent.
Now we travel on much shorter breaks and plan it around our travel blogging business.
Camping in a Tipi ~
Look at those sweet little girls smiles…they are so very gorgeous!
Q:- What is one place that you both love and would return to again with your family?
Thailand. I could live there and would love to share it with my daughters. I love the relaxed lifestyle over there. You are welcome and accepted to live the life you choose and the people are calm and friendly. Not to mention the climate, beautiful beaches, delicious food and the fact that you can live like a King for next to nothing.
Father and Daughter Time ~
Building a Fire To Keep Warm!
I Love the idea of camping in a tipi, fire going and sharing quality time.
Q:- If there was one thing you would do differently with your travelling lifestyle, what would it be?
At the moment it would just be to travel for more extended periods of time. We are based in our home town temporarily right now and are only going for short trips. We’d love to take off on a year-long road trip around Australia, across the US or live in Asia for a while. Apart from that we are pretty happy with our travelling lifestyle.
Q:- Can you say that travelling has changed who you are, and has it made your relationship stronger/different?
Absolutely. It has forced me to get to know myself and to think about how life works and what the purpose of it is. Because of travel I have grown more tolerant and peaceful and I am deeply in love with the world. I think this helps me to always live with wonder and passion for life.
It’s definitely made our relationships stronger. We spend so much time together that we have really learned how to get along together as a team. We have a marriage built on a solid foundation of profound memories and lessons.
It has certainly made us much closer as a family as well. We are out living life together learning and having fun.
Q:- Do you think that travelling with young children will help them to develop, and helps them grow into who they will be? And if so how?
Oh I definitely do. I think it helps them become more aware of their place in the world. They learn so much about the world around them, how to be independent, how to make choices, how to communicate and get along with others. They are learning about growth and following your dreams and keeping in tune with the joy of life.
Kalyra has such a zest for life and she is so clever and imaginative and knows so much about the world. She can be incredibly fearless, which I think the travel helps to develop as the walls of limitation that society like to place upon us are not present. They come to understand that anything is possible.

Love this. I keep telling people that working holiday visas are the key to long-term travel while you’re under 30 – this is proof that if you’re determined & creative, travel doesn’t have rules or an expiration date. What powerful, independent women these little girls will become!
