YIPEEE – its Monday, which means we have our regular blog posting – Monday Featured Travelling Blogger Journey. Two weeks ago we had Suzi from Two and a Half Travellers.
This week we have another amazing traveller and his story of why/how/when he wanted to start travelling, and the journey along his way!
We are so happy to be sharing Jeremy from Living The Dream! What I really like about doing a regular blog post from other travellers is that they are so inspirational – it’s so good to hear about other people travelling and where they have been, where they plan to go!
Monday Featured Travelling Blogger Journey
Q:- What made you decide to start travelling in 2008.
I always had a list of destinations I wanted to go to. Western Europe was on the top of my list, so after I graduated from undergrad I packed my bags and went for nearly four weeks. I can’t say there was one moment that made me decide to go other than graduating allowed me to have enough time off, and finally enough money, to do something awesome.
Then I went to grad school which allowed me to do it all over again on a much grander scale when I graduated a second time. I look at it as a matter of putting all the cool places in the world on a list, prioritizing them, checking them off, and then adding more when I hear about them. My list is still very long and getting longer each day, although now the top destinations are a bit less defined as I truly want to see it all.

2. You have travelled to 34 Countries and territories – has one country made an impact on you from visiting there and if so how has it changed who you are?
There is a culmination of every country I visit that affects who I am. If I had to pick a general region I suppose it would be the Middle East (Egypt and Jordan) because it was apparent from day one that everyone I met was just as nice as everyone else I’ve met from other countries while traveling. Because of that perception I think I am definitely open to understanding other cultures and how we are all the same when it comes down to it.

Travelling and exploring are their dream!
3. Will you return to any of the countries you have already visited?
Most definitely! Angie hasn’t been to many places outside of the USA yet other than places I’ve dragged her to (Caribbean, Singapore, Thailand). So of course, now that we will be getting married in a few weeks I have a long list of places that she needs to get to.
They’re all back on the must see list all over again! I will never be upset when posed with having to go see the Pyramids again or playing in the mountains of Switzerland.

Gosh that looks magical!
4. How do you travel – do you housesit, motels/hotels, backpackers, or do you travel with an RV/ camper trailers?
We’re still in the budget hotel and hostel lifestyle as a means to save money while on the road (and therefore travel longer). I’ve been a bit apprehensive to house sitting and the couch surfing movement but am all for those who want to try it out to save even more cash. We’ll sometimes splurge and take a cruise or stay in a nice resort though! It seems that the longer we go, the cheaper the accommodations we try to fit into as to try to make a decent budget – accommodations can be quite expensive.
Can you imagine seeing this gorgeous building? ~
Exploring and discovery parts of the world!
5. Will you and Angie continue travelling in the future?
Of course! We’re going to Spain for our honeymoon in a few weeks and have some more interesting plans coming up that we cannot talk about yet. Suffice it to say, the next few years will be quite good for travel on our end!

What an interesting interview! My husband and I travelled a lot after we first married but haven’t since the children arrived. I would love to take the children to India, which was the first country I travelled to alone. My family think New Zealand might be a good starting point though. Great post!

Hi Misha,
I love the sound of India or New Zealand. We sure have a lot to see here in Australia but also keen on finding places overseas to see….travelling with family is different but so good 🙂
Would you consider travelling with your children?
Cheers
