The other day I shared our experience at Avon Dam {near Bargo New South Wales} and today I would like to share Nepean Dam….Its not as pretty but still worth the trip out there. We stopped there after visiting Wirrimbirra Sanctuary.
Actually I reckon that Avon Dam was by far the nicest Dam we have come across so far in New South Wales, I am sure that I will find more wonderful dams on our travels next year.
Nepean Dam ::
Yeah my little monkey did climb this ladder to reach the top!! He wanted to stay up there till I asked him to please join me for the walk across the Dam Wall.
We all could hear the water but couldn’t see it till we walked half way across the Dam Wall. {Feels Weird saying that “Dam Wall’ !!!} Then I had to zoom my camera lenses in to see where the sound of water was coming from – and it was so loud!
The day was that Hot that I ended up walking across the bridge {Dam Wall} by myself while Cameron and Kyle waited in the Car. They were so affected by the heat!
Both Boys thought it was weird that there was Picnic Tables in “HUT” style format, but I thought it a great idea for when its too hot, or when its raining.
Funny enough they could get out of the car to have fun on the playground! And they both reckon that Nepean Dam is better, only because of the Playground.
Have You Ever Been To Nepean Dam?
Its a great place to stretch your legs! And explore….but I still like Avon Dam more!
Cheers

Thanks for the recommendations Lisa – to be honest we have not visited dams before but sure looks like a lit if fun! Will pen it down for our next outdoorsy activities list!

The noise of thundering water is so exciting. That is so typical that the kids didn’t want to exercise in the heat but loved the playground. It must have been very hot for Kyle to choose the car!

It just boggles your mind when you think of all the VERY carefully crafted man hours and architecture and planning it took to build this…and do safely and to ensure it always stood strong. Good post, Lisa 🙂
