Today I am Off To Brisbane in the Train. I am going to catch the 5.25am Train from Nambour Station and meet our son at one of the Stations on our way to Brisbane. We will get there about 7.15am in the morning! Did I ever tell you – I am not a morning person….well today I have to be.
Why Am I Off To Brisbane
So why am I going into Brisbane? Simply because I have to. I want to. I need to be. I am going into Brisbane on the really early train to support my oldest boy with his last lot of Navy Interviews. Its so important that I be there as I want to make sure that he is going to come out of the 4 hour interview with a friendly face at the other end. My fingers and toes are crossed that he will have a smile on his face when he does walk out of there….as these interviews are his last lot. He might been given an answer of YES/NO to when he starts, or even given a start date.
Wishing Him Well
Last night we were talking on Facebook, and his Dad wished him well. But the best part was both Dad and I said “Go into the interview as if you are already in the Navy, and all you are going for is to get your start date”. Hope that gives him a boost of much needed confidence as he is nervous. I know in my heart that the navy will be the best career for him, but I still have a part of me that says “Is this the safest option for him”. I know that I have to let him go, I have to let him grow. He has always wanted to be in the Navy….he worked it out when he was a young boy that he loves the military career. For many years he was in the Navy Cadets.

Here is Hayden trying out one of his outfits for the day (a couple of months ago he brought this and tried it on for his family)
Here is his second choice for the day!
Spending Time with His Family
Yesterday Hayden meet us at the beach and we got to spend time with him! It was so good seeing him relax, and enjoying himself in the sun. He has grown taller yet again! If that is possible!
Here we are together at Mooloolaba Beach on the Sunshine Coast
We will be in Brisbane when you read this blog post! Today is one of the reasons why we had to move from Bundaberg to the Sunshine Coast Areas. Fingers crossed he is almost half way through the four hour interview! Fingers crossed he comes out of the interview room with a big small on his face and I can give him a big hug!

My old home Mooloolaba- love that beach.
Good luck to your son and what a good mum you are being there for him. It’s a long way before I’m up to my babies flying the coop but I am sure it will be really hard to let him go. You gotta let them fly though and you have raised him well so he can fly strong

Hi Caz,
It sure is a different phase we are going through at the moment..seeing our oldest boy grow up and head off to the Navy! He is so super excited and I am so proud of him – it was the best moment, seeing him walk out of the lifts and smiling. I knew when I asked him if he was ok! He just smiled, and said Yes. Then I had to ask him “So did you get in?” which he replied “Of course” !!!
Cheers
