On our journey in January/February {in our trusty old campervan} we traveled down from Bundaberg to New South Wales {and then back up to the Sunshine Coast} and if I didn’t have my photos there is no way I would remember where we went to, nor what we had seen along the way. So glad that I am camera happy cause we have memories for all of our boys to look back on!
We drove past this Memorial – wished we had the time to stop and check it out, but we had places to be!
We used to visit Old Petrie Town when we owned our house in D’aguilar – going there on a Sunday morning, visiting every house which was set up to sell different items, buying the “kettle popcorn” bags, sitting on the lawn of the hotel, listening to the band playing and chilling out. It was such a wonderful day – oh and they have the Best Curry Pies we have ever come across…..shame I don’t eat red meat anymore!
We used to sit on the grass at the back of this building, listening to live bands. While our oldest boys were little, they played and ate popcorn and listened to the band. Then it was time to head home for afternoon rests. So glad we created these memories with our boys, to look back and remember.
Must try and get to another market at Old Petrie Town one Sunday, with our youngest boys so they too can experience the same!
Isn’t this the cutest little church you have ever seen? I so could imagine a sweet romantic wedding in the building – now that would be amazing!
They even have “Farm Animals” where you can feed the baby animals “Bottles” – I remember going there with a “School Excursion” one time. And a “Pottery” shed where you can go and make something, leave it to be “Fired” and then pick it up another time.
When we first started out Homeschooling we did that with our boys as part of their homeschooling subject. They loved every minute of it.
Have You Been To Old Petrie Town?
Did You Go To The Markets?
Cheers
Lisa
