This week I have been getting ready with scraping back our motorhome so that David can paint it. If you know us, you will know that David is the perfectionist and he builds/designs/creates/renovate everything in our Motorhome! He has done all of the work by himself, and wont let anyone work on our Motorhome!
Yet I have so wanted to paint on the outside for so very long. Painting a Old Motorhome is NOT Fun! I thought it would be easy to get her ready for a new paint job, but first you have to scrap off the old paint…….
Here are the photos from one side of our Motorhome (I finally finished one side tonight!)
The start of the Driver Side ~
One and a bit panels are done at the rear of the old motorhome
The next panel to do for the next day!
Cameron (with his funny smile!) Helping out ~
all of our boys will pick up the scraper and have a go ~
they last about 2 minutes!
Cameron having another go!
Tonight it was finished ~
Zachery got in and started to help me so we finished it faster than I thought we would (the sun had gone down so we had to turn the lights on to see what we were doing!)
One side finished ~
Front, back and other side to go!
Front and Back
Seen as how the back door is going to be replaced (and have something special to announce about our back door ~ very soon!) and is fibreglass as well as the front of our Motorhome, David is going to either have to do it himself or show me how to carefully sand it back.
It will be a more delicate job than using a Paint Scraper because the sanding could easily dent the fibreglass, which means more work for David. Considering how much painting he is going to be doing, I don’t want to create extra repairs for him!
So Happy We Are Almost Ready To Paint our Old Motorhome!
Have You Got A Old Motorhome Ready To Paint Before?
Cheers

New Life on the Road
EEek! What a lot of work! I don’t envy you at all. We just finished replacing a picket fence in the stifling heat. I’d much rather be inside sipping a cool drink!

Hi Amy,
Today I started the other side ~ and after trying for two hours to get one patch done…I love the idea of your cool Drink! What time should I be there?
Cheers

Boy you have powered through all that scraping. Well Done – I am sure I would have procrastinated – and taken twice as long! Did you decide on a colour scheme, or do we have to wait!

Hi Jan,
It was the best feeling ~ finishing off one side in less than a week! Now I am on the other side. Its a lot harder work as the paint doesnt come off easily 🙂
Cheers

That’s great progress. I can’t wait to see how it turns out! Thanks for linking up for Flash Blog Friday 🙂
Painting an old Motorhome entails a lot of work. But it will be done with patience and hard work. Have fun! 🙂
