While we were walking up and down Port Kembla main street {searching for a toilet, finding one at the back of the pub!} we stubble across this amazing Antique store called Red Point Furniture Restoration.
Kyle must have a part of me…..he was the one to talk me into going back to look inside. And boy am I glad we did….
I so wanted to buy this whole box of Photos! I had to stop myself by making sure I looked and took photos, and then put them all back….but Gee I so wanted to get my hands on these.
History has always been my favorite subject, especially in High School – I studied advanced Ancient History for my Higher School Certificate. And these photos hold so much history. From wearing clothes that I couldn’t imagine having to wear, to family get together’s…I so can’t understand how someone could sell their family photos? I sure hope that family members can stumble upon these photos and claim them.
I did ask the lady in the store how the photos got there….
It came with other items from a Family in the area who was cleaning out the house of their loved one who had passed away. The beauty of the story is that another Photographer did purchase some to add to his collection that was going on display in an art gallery.
And also another person recognized some of the “Family Pictures” as being his ancestors so he purchased them.
I still would love to go back to Red Point Furniture Restoration and buy some….I am having to stop myself.
He almost looks like he is in the Services? Maybe army or navy or Airforce? Looks like something from maybe in 1950’s?? He would be someones son, or someone’s husband?
Kyle had $5.00 pocket money so he spent it on this Train….which he is keen to “Renovate” back to its former glory. Funny enough when he showed his Dad, he let Kyle know that Grandad had one like that when he was a young child! So Kyle is now keen to share it with his Grandad at Christmas time {when he gets to see him again}

We all love them….glad we don’t have any more room in the Motorhome – it means that I must NOT buy anymore stuff that we do not need 🙂
