Bundaberg Show

We got to experience Bundaberg Show on Wednesday, with the sunshine out and the crowds not so busy, it was a perfect day out.

And even though I was silly and wore my black boots {with a small heel} it still was a fun filled day for my boys 🙂

We got to meet an amazing lady who travels with about 40 different animals in her 40foot bus!! Yep she travels with mini pigs, goats, sheep, chicken, ducks, guinea pigs and Alpacas. Has been travelling from Show to Show, to nursing homes and events for about 20 years. Even does a display of shearing the sheep, and sells the wool.

Learn To Sail Bundaberg

Both Boys had a fun day at “Sailability” a few weeks ago, which was fun but didn’t last very long. It was for only 10 minutes and they didn’t get to “Sail” at all, just sat next to an instructor and got to learn what needs to be done to sail. While I was happy that both Cameron and Kyle got a taste of sailing, I was keen for them to “Learn To Sail” and started to ask questions.

To be told about the “Learn To Sail Bundaberg” group that would be starting its new course soon. I rang up to the club house and took a picture of the poster that advertised the event. It had the organiser name and email address. I contacted them and worked out when the next sailing class was going to start up.

East Bundaberg Water Tower

On Saturday we had a tour booked with our Homeschooling friends – it was booked months ago, and I wasn’t even sure if we could actually make it because of things that have happened with David’s Mum….but I was keen to see the East Bundaberg Water Tower, and seen as how it was a tour and they don’t normally have it open to the public, even with our older boys home with us, we made sure to make it!

We actually took our third son Nicholas with us – Cameron decided he wanted to stay home – he is not keen to go out and about anymore so we are respecting those wishes. When he heard we also went to the Bert Hinkler House in the Botanical Gardens he was really disappointed that he didn’t come!

The Hummock Earth Cache

You all know how addicted we have become to Geocaching, well there are three caches up at The Hummock, overlooking Bundaberg. The Hummock {Earth Cache} is not a physical cache, you haven’t got any log book to pick up and sign. You do need to “prove” the owner of the cache that you checked out the boardwalk, walked up to the top to the view, read the information board down the bottom and answer the caches questions.

Well what better way to do all, then with a group of Bundaberg Homeschoolers {who all happen to be boys yesterday!!!}

Baldwin Swamp Bundaberg

Yesterday we meet with other homeschooling Mums/Kids at Baldwin Swamp Bundaberg for more GEOcaching fun, along with much needed exercise for us Mums, and an wonderful way to burn off energy for the kids. It was rather warm day but at the same time it was so beautiful.

I actually never even knew that Baldwin Swamp was there! I have been to the Sugar Train Playground. And I have seen the signs pointing to the landscaped bush walking areas but have never ventured that far. I think in the three hours that we were there we nearly covered ever walking track that’s available! If not we were so very close 🙂

Let It Rain

We are singing! Let It Rain, Let It Rain, Let it keep on raining because we need it here. Instead of “Let It Go” its now our theme song for around these parts of Australia.

Being on tank water, and watching the Dam water drop {the dam is for the gardens and flushing the toilets in the two houses on the property} we have been very concerned about the level of both tanks – oh and the pool takes 1/2 tank to refill each time!

Yesterday David came home from work and we were over the moon to spend some much needed quality time together.
