Wallabadah Primitive Campground

After we left Moonan Brook Forestry Cottage in New South Wales we had some where to be up north. And we only had a few days to get there. But I so wanted to stop and look at Wallabadah Primitive Campground because I wanted to check out the display they had in the garden – it was fascinating and I am so glad I made sure we could stop there.

Mind you the toilet facilities are not the best, I think maybe they were going through a renovation stage cause the showers didn’t even have handles on the walls so they couldn’t be used?

Baffle Creek Raft Race

Every year they have a Baffle Creek Raft Race where you can build your own, or turn up and they supply all the stuff needed to make one on the spot and race {its called a “Dogs Breakfast Race”}. We haven’t even been up to Baffle Creek before so I was keen to see what the town was like. We decided to join the Bundaberg Homeschooling group who were staying on a friends property for a spot of of Free Camping!

Baffle Creek Raft Race ::

Cameron and Kyle did make rafts at Grandma and Grandad’s place but they didn’t end up using them. Instead everyone got together and made one that could hold 5 of the homeschooling boys.

The Hummock Earth Cache

You all know how addicted we have become to Geocaching, well there are three caches up at The Hummock, overlooking Bundaberg. The Hummock {Earth Cache} is not a physical cache, you haven’t got any log book to pick up and sign. You do need to “prove” the owner of the cache that you checked out the boardwalk, walked up to the top to the view, read the information board down the bottom and answer the caches questions.

Well what better way to do all, then with a group of Bundaberg Homeschoolers {who all happen to be boys yesterday!!!}

Hangi Fundraising For PNG

The other day there was a Fundraising event advertised on a Wide Bay Homeschooling Facebook page and I was thinking it sounded like a great way for our boys to experience more culture in their world, and I was keen cause I know how yummy the food would be from cooking it in the ground!

I asked how much the Hangi Fundraising For PNG was going to be for the evening, and it was only $5.00 per small plate and $10 per large plate – super good value for money considering how much food there was to try. The pumpkin – OH my gosh, I have never ever tasted Pumpkin like it, and I don’t think I will ever taste it that good ever again!

Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary

The other week we drove down to Maryborough {once again!!!} to meet up with a Homeschooling group who organised an outing to Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary. So glad we made it – our GPS took us to the wrong location at first so then I used my GPS on the phone, and 30 minutes late we finally arrived.

Our boys love meeting other homeschoolers, and they love Animals. So I knew that it was going to be a fantastic day out. And it was such a great little Sanctuary, one with many sweet enclosures, and one we could even walk through {which was very scary but I put on my big girl pants}

Take The Plunge Community Cafe

We are back meeting up with Homeschoolers in the Bundaberg area, and joining in with a meet up at Take The Plunge Community Cafe, where our boys play with their Edison Robotics, which I will have to try and see if I can explain how they work at a later date {I am still trying to get my head around the Edison Robotics!!}

I have never ever walked into a cafe where I felt like I was so awed by it! Walking through the doors of Take The Plunge Cafe, you will so feel it to.

LOVE THE COUNTER WHERE YOU ORDER AND PAY

You can order your Plunge Tea/ Coffee/Milk Shakes or Drinks/Sandwiches or Biscuits. Then you can grab your own cup off the shelf – they even have a little “Booklet” on the tables that explains “what Cup you picked, means what your personality is” 🙂

I love sayings on walls

THESE GORGEOUS LITTLE PAINTINGS ARE IMPORTANT

When you place your order, they will give you these tiny gorgeous “Art Displays” to put on your tables – they are so the staff will know where you are and bring your food/drink orders to your table.

I SAT ON THE BIG LOUNGE CHAIR AND YES ITS SO COMFY

I love the Coffee Table – its a Huge Bellow with Wheels, both boys noticed how groovy it was {and what it was} when we sat down to design their Edison Robotics {a Homeschooling Mum gives them ideas on designs that they could draw and then work out how their Robotics could do the designs – last Week was a “Maize”}

I am in love with Take The Plunge Community Cafe, its a great meeting place!

Have You Been To Cafe Like This One?

Cheers

New Life on the Road

The Boat That Kyle Built

Last week I had to drop off Cameron and Kyle to their Grandparents so that David and I could attend the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Its the very first time I have left Cameron and Kyle together with anyone, let alone their Grandparents.

I was very worried – Kyle is our little free spirit child who explores all the time and we have to constantly search for him.

And Cameron is our one who loves to have constant routine and sticks to what he knows – and needs his own personal space.

Flying A Kite

The other day we had a homeschooling meet up where both boys got to make their own Kites. Learning about the best way to make a kite so that it can fly up high, with instructions given in an easy manner to understand by the Future World Teachers!

Along with the shape of the kite they had to work out the measurements, the angles, cutting and decorating….they both had to make sure that they had enough tail for the kite to stay up in the air. Luckily the day was really windy so it was perfect for it.

Skwirk Review And Giveaway

Seen as how we are homeschooling two of our five sons we were thrilled to be asked to Review Skwirk Online Education {and Give you a chance to win a membership!!}

We have used Skwirk before with Zachery, Nicholas, Cameron and Kyle….a few years back. You can read about that experience within our”Skwirk Review” post.
