The Essentials With Paul Wilson

After the Friday night – listening to Dan Barber – we were both excited to be able to attend the Saturday event. It was in a vacant lot between office buildings/hotels. Turned into a “Casual Meeting Place” to learn all about cooking Mexican food. The Essentials with Paul Wilson, something we didn’t know much about but soon realised we were in the right place at the right time- so very glad that Hubby was with me because he LOVES food.

Actually David should have been a chef, the way he can whip up dishes from ingredients that we have, the way he can find a recipe and then adapt it to our Gluten and Sugar Free way of eating, the way he can find ingredients and put them together and they taste amazing. I reckon he would have been a bit like Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsey – not too sure on the language but do know that he would have had a successful restaurant.

Melbourne Has A Piece Of My Heart

Melbourne Has A Piece Of My Heart

Melbourne is one of our all time favorite cities, and one we love to visit. Its a special place – its the City where our Two Oldest Son’s went to for basic Navy Training. Its the place where both boys made all of their family super proud with their Navy graduations – oh gosh do my Boys Look good in Navy Uniforms.

And its also where “World Vision” head office is – a place that is very very special to our hearts.

Yes we love Melbourne and we will always will. Even though we haven’t been there since our second son’s navy graduation we can’t wait to get back there.

Melbourne Zoo Is The Best Zoo

When we were with our second son he was able to have the weekend with us….and we took him {along with Grandparents} to the Pure Peninsula Honey on the Saturday. Purchased lots of yummy Honey Products – their soap is gorgeous. Unfortunately my Camera Battery died just as we arrived so I never got to capture our visit. Stupid me forgot to pack the charger for it!!

Then on the Sunday We Went To the Melbourne Zoo – it is the Best Zoo ever! There is so much to see – we nearly got to see ALL of the Zoo but we had to leave early to get our Second Son Back to base.

Which means that we must go back to Melbourne Zoo when we are down that way again.

Explore the West End And Stay At The Luxurious Crown Metropol

There is something that you all know about us! And that is our love of Melbourne and our lack of alcohol drinks! But did you know that I have experienced both and loved every minute of it.

Explore The West End

Cant say that I have stayed at the Luxurious Crown Metropol (have stayed at the Novotel in St Kilda) so I guess it would be just as gorgeous! I think it would be on par with Novotel after looking at their stunning rooms online?

The Count Down To Melbourne Is On

The Count Down To Melbourne Is On

Today I woke up to more rain….grrrr where is it coming from? Surely there is nothing left to keep on sending our way! Then I realised it was Friday. That means there is only five more days before I fly to Melbourne.

The Big Count Down Is On

I have to admit that I am super excited as I love Melbourne. There is so much to do there, so many wonderful places to eat at and so much culture to take in and admire.

While I am down there I was hoping to have dinner with my older son But he is not allowed off Base during the week 🙁 How weird is that – allowed to join the navy, allowed to defend our country but can’t have dinner with his Mum during the week!

Oh well maybe he will get to come home for his 18th Birthday in June, or I could fly to him (yeah I like the sound of that!!)

Staying At Frankston Melbourne

Staying At Frankston Melbourne

This is not a review on where we stayed (as in Hotels!) because I would never review a hotel that I would not recommend! But this is a review about Staying At Frankston Melbourne.

Hi-Lights Of Frankston

Those words “Location, Location, Location” are so very true. Frankston is about an hour from Melbourne City and is also near the most gorgeous beaches.

Going for a Scenic drive along the coast (from the navy base back to Frankston) took our breathe away. The curvey roads revealed more and more on each bend…looking out over the water it was so blue, so clear, the sand was a perfect colour and the little cute beach “Huts” gave it a mediterraean feel to the place.
