Calliope Free Camping

Recently we planned a trip to visit one of our magical favorite camping spots up north because Kyle has been bugging us for ages to go Gold Fossicking and looking for gems. He even kept asking if he could pack a back pack and go by himself!

I kept having to tell him that at the age of 12 he isn’t allowed to go on a camping adventure all by himself but he doesn’t care about the fact that he isn’t yet over 18. And being a red hair, being a full on adventure fun loving child I am going to have to make sure that he doesn’t disappear on us! Yeah I think I will have to hide the Back Packs so that he doesn’t get any ideas.

THE BEST HOTEL IN ROCKHAMPTON

On the weekend David and I had to be in Rockhapmton for a conference on the Sunday called “Put Your Hand Up” – and I was keen to find The Best Hotel In Rockhampton, and I think that without a doubt I find it – it had a King Size Bed and a Bath Tub, what more could we ask for?

Its called the Denison Boutique Hotel and I found it on LastMinute Website – with breakfast part of the package deal David was sold on the idea of us staying there.

Redfern New South Wales

Recently I was done in New South Wales as I had to finish off my Diploma of Remedial Massage through my college. And you all know how much I love walking, so I walked the city streets, looking for Geocaches. Funny enough I walked the Streets of Redfern New South Wales the day before my birthday Surprise from David, walking near where i had to be the next day!

Missing In Action

Hey all, how are you all doing? Not sure if you are all up to date with what is going on, but I am in Sydney for at least five weeks to finish off my massage course. I have 2 lots of four days to complete my extra 70 hours.

Why so long in Sydney? Well I am trying to find a way to connect with a company for two weeks of donating my massage time in exchange for learning their skills that they teach to work with horses!!! You all know how much I love helping others, and how much I love horses so its a win/win situation.

Bundaberg Show

We got to experience Bundaberg Show on Wednesday, with the sunshine out and the crowds not so busy, it was a perfect day out.

And even though I was silly and wore my black boots {with a small heel} it still was a fun filled day for my boys 🙂

We got to meet an amazing lady who travels with about 40 different animals in her 40foot bus!! Yep she travels with mini pigs, goats, sheep, chicken, ducks, guinea pigs and Alpacas. Has been travelling from Show to Show, to nursing homes and events for about 20 years. Even does a display of shearing the sheep, and sells the wool.

New Italy New South Wales

We have stayed overnight at New Italy New South Wales on one of our travels, but also we have stopped there for coffee and food on one of our trips! And to check out their amazing museum.

The food is average, and so is the coffee but the Museum is what attracted us the most – a little bit of history lesson for our boys without them realising it!

And we would love to stop there again to look at their bigger museum and gift store. Here you can see Kyle sleeping next to the campervan on one of our trips to Sydney from Bundaberg.

Big River Holiday Park Graffton

This is from back in June of 2015!! Yep I haven’t had time to blog that much so I am still trying to do our travels of New South Wales.

After we left Moonan Cottage we headed to Big River Holiday Park Grafton as we had heard how they were offering such a great rate for campers, and how good their kitchen facilities were. I can’t remember where I read about the info but it was on a facebook page {maybe a camping page?}

We also had to be close to the Goldcoast for a special event the next day, so we know we had a long drive ahead to get to Grafton, and yet it was worth it. It rained so heavy that night, and we were extremely wet packing up which meant we had a wet few nights of sleeping.

The Inside Of Moonan Cottage

You all know how we loved our stay at Moonan Cottage and I have shared a few post about our stay, and from the area but I haven’t shared anything about the inside of Moonan Cottage so I thought I would share it now before I forget!

THE LOUNGE ROOM INSIDE THE MOONAN COTTAGE

It was so cozy at night time to sit beside the fire, and play one of their board games!

Polblue Camping Area : Barrington Tops

When we drove up to Barrington Tops, and had a look at the Picnic area we drove to the Polblue Camping Area Barrington Tops to walk around and see what facilities were there.

There wasn’t anyone camping there while we walked around, but I so would love to go back and stay there – mind you I am not sure if I could “Camp” in the snow unless we had heating set up for night time as it gets very cold up there.

We did go for a very “short” walk – we wanted to explore but none of us were dressed for the weather – Yeah check out Kyle’s foot wear!!

Barrington Tops Picnic Area

When we stayed at Moonan Cottage we took a ride up to Barrington Tops – having to stop at the top to open the “Gate” and shut the “Gate” – it is a Dingo Gate to keep the area safe from Dingos, mind you there was big holes along the fence line so not sure how successful the gate would be!!

Our first stop was Barrington Tops Picnic Area – which is really spooky in the day time, could only imagine how spooky it would be at the night time. I was so waiting for a “Monster” to jump out behind the trees and scare us all. Which is so very silly cause there is no such thing as monsters. But it was also spectacular at the same time, is that possible – to have something so beautiful it takes your breath away yet it was also very scary??
