Barrington Tops

When we stayed at Moonan Cottage New South Wales we were given ideas of what to see and do while there. The wonderful owner partner let us know what was in the area – and Barrington Tops seemed such a beautiful place to drive to!

I do know that in the snow the road is closed down and the gates are locked. And when we were traveling up there we noticed a lot of 4wd going through so they must use the road to get home or to travel to the next town.

Moonan Cottage New South Wales

** from our travels last year – playing catch up! **

We love escaping and exploring places we have never ever heard of, and to experience new ways of traveling. We won a one night stay at Moonan Cottage in New South Wales over on their facebook page, and I knew in my heart that one night was not going to cut it! David’s parents gifted us another night accommodation to say thanks for helping them out and being there when David’s Dad broke his ankle.

Sunset At Myall Lakes National Park

Something special about watching a Sunset At Myall Lakes National Park. If you know me, you know I love Sunsets! Actually I named my Business “Sunset Massages” because its my favorite time of the day. I have seen a few Sunrises in my time, but as I am not a morning person that is very rare – I am a night owl and would rather stay up late and sleep in the morning.

Have You Stayed At Myall Lakes National Park?

Mungo Brush Campground Beach

So we have shared our thoughts about Myall National Park and Mungo Campsites {can’t recommend the smelly toilets but hey the view over looking the lake and the beach access makes up for it!}

Mungo Brush Campground Beach is literally across the road from the campsites. And you won’t believe the paradise you will walk out to when you are finished with waking up, having breakfast and ready to explore. Even the teenagers who don’t like to get out and explore will love the beach!

Myall Lakes National Park

After our busy weekend in Sydney {yeah I am still playing catch up with our trip down South which was years ago – Joking – before our next adventure!} – With our older son’s engagement party and Vivid Sydney we had two nights free before our next booked accommodation. So David decided to look at our Camps 7 Book and check out Myalll Lake National Park and see if we could stay there for two nights.

Vivid Sydney 2016

So I am still sharing our trip down South! After our Free Camping at Meroo National Park and our wonderful time Geocaching on Crapmton Island we headed back to Sydney, staying at Lane Cove National Park. That way we could easily catch a train to see Vivid Sydney {2016}

We have seen Vivid a few times now! And maybe one day we will see it again. We have seen it down at Darling Harbour one year – with music and light shows – gosh that was a great display that year!

Meroo National Park Free Camping Spot

After we stayed with friends in Newcastle we headed to the Lane Cove National Park for the weekend. We froze our butt off big time staying there – the showers had run out of “Hot Water” while we were there the first night so we had to search other showers the next night.

I didn’t get any pics of the Lane Cove National Park because I have already taken pics last time we stayed there {thought I had shared that in a blog post but I can’t find it!} The National Park is very expensive to stay there over night – they make you pay for children over the age of 12 as an adult 🙁

Gin Gin Queensland

We love to explore where ever we can, when ever we can. We love geoaching, and we love seeing new towns. We have been out to Gin Gin Queensland to see the Fred Haigh Dam. But didn’t really stop to look around the town until a while ago.

Gin Gin Queensland ::

Such a cute little country town, where we hope to return one day to see the Cattle Auctions – must find out when they are on so our boys can go and see how animals are sold in the country!

Where To Stay While Traveling Australia

On our travels over the years we have stayed in many different places, and many different styles of accommodations over the years. From Free Camping destinations – found with our Camp 7 Book, to sleeping near the beach in our Campervan, to pulling up in rest stops in our Motorhome, to sleeping in tents, to traveling with our Camper van and Camper trailer, to finding a hotel because David and Kyle were not well, to even staying at beautiful hotels/motels.

Bargara Beach And Geocaching

On Wednesday’s we go into town to meet up with the Homeschooling group at the “Take The Plunge Cafe” – where we get to have fun working out how the Edison’s are supposed to move, and have a green tea with other homeschooling Mums – its my much needed down time.

We don’t do school work {most of us are unschoolers anyway} but because one of the sweet mama’s is a teacher {or should I say ex-teacher now that she has kids!} takes so many wonderful things for us and the kids to do. Last week she started teaching us Spanish with numbers which was such a cool thing to do.

Before we meet up I have about five hours to waste {we drop off David to work in the mornings} so we head to Bargara Beach for some Geocahing, and then head to the library before the cafe meet up.
