Last week I had to drop off Cameron and Kyle to their Grandparents so that David and I could attend the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Its the very first time I have left Cameron and Kyle together with anyone, let alone their Grandparents.
I was very worried – Kyle is our little free spirit child who explores all the time and we have to constantly search for him.
And Cameron is our one who loves to have constant routine and sticks to what he knows – and needs his own personal space.
Our life sure has been full of adventures moving lately…from staying in a caravan park cabin, to book three nights in a Holiday Apartment to now moving into a Fully Furnished Apartment. Did you know that last night we had two apartments in our name, and had access to both of them….to confusing to try and explain that one!
Where Are We Now? We are on the Sunshine Coast, putting into place things for our year 2015 to work out.
This is our inside of the Fully Furnished Apartment – it used to be an apartment that was in the “Holiday” list for the real estate….
Cameron and I got to spend some quality time together! It was so nice, normally Kyle and I have quality time or we all go out as a family together….not so much one-on-one with the others. Since we did and had lots of fun at Bellingham Maze we are now looking at other attractions where we go together.
Bellingham Maze :: Get Lost
And boy did I ever….Cameron worked out how to get into the Maze and out within next to no time, and was racing ahead – saying “See you soon, Mum”.
WOW what a week we have had! We thought the five hour trip from Bundaberg to Sunshine Coast was going to be a breeze, and one that we could take slowly…..guess the universe has other ideas for us.
Travelling from Bundaberg to the Sunshine Coast is a familiar trip for us because we used to live in D’aguilar and then at Glasshouse Mountains. And we used to drive back n forth every Christmas/Easter to David’s Parents. Never ever has it taken so bloody long!
The other day we drove down to Sarina to check out if our Motorhome will be able to fit in the Caravan Park we are moving to. While we were there we walked into the Sarina Tourist Information Centre to find out what we can explore while we are staying there. And what do I find but a brochure on “50 Must Do’s On The Sunshine Coast“…too funny as that is where we have just come from!
Reading The Brochure
While David drives us back to Mackay I start reading the brochure from Sunshine Coast Tourism “50 Must Do’s On The Sunshine Coast” and I start to feel really slack…as we hardly did any of the list!!
Yet we stayed on the Sunshine Coast for over six months (far too long in one place!)
So I thought I would go through the List and Work out what we did see….
1. Australia Zoo – seen as how we lived in the Glasshouse Area in 2010 we had season passes to Australia Zoo and so we didnt make the time to go while staying on the Sunshine Coast. Now I wished we had!
On Saturday (last weekend) I was not in the mood for anything! Actually I so needed some “Vitamin Me” time so instead of doing something for the family (or with the Family) I got David to drop me off to a Raw Food Cafe while he took the boys shopping!
Raw Food Cafe
Its Rawsome Cafe ~
Where the food is live!
We drive past there all of the time as its the back way from Nambour to Davids work, as well as we go past there on our way to shopping! Every time I say “Gosh I so want to try that place” and never do.
Yesterday I was able to sleep in, and was woken up with a coffee. I so love the smell of fresh coffee brewing in the morning!
We had a yummy breakfast – David had baked beans on toast and I had poached eggs with salsa on Rye Bread. A quick clean up of the kitchen and then out the door.
David wanted to do food shopping and I wanted a day out of the bus! We went to Lifeline first – its a really big one that I have wanted to look at for sometime. We spent about an hour there just looking around.
Another Day In Paradise Magical
David then dropped Cameron Kyle and I to Cotten Tree.
Yesterday we headed to Nambour Park to listen to Music in the Park. It was so HOT…like melting heat, but I thought it would be worth the afternoon. Also wanted to see our boys have fun in the most amazing park!
Music In The Park
It was so nice to be sitting on a Picnic Rug and listening to music while two of our boys were playing in the playground! The Music was from live bands, and catered for all music taste. From rock, to easy listening, to even Jazz. People were soon up dancing and enjoying themselves, while I relaxed and took in all of the different cultures that were there!
For many years we used to drive past the Bli Bli Castle on the Sunshine Coast and never stop in. For many years we promised our boys that we would take them to the Bli Bli Castle but never did. It was kinda of one of those things where we didnt have enough time, enough money, or never took the opportunity to visit a tourist place because we always took it for granted that we were close enough to visit whenever we wanted. That one day became yesterday.
