We spent a day at Randwick the other day and I couldn’t get over The Artworks At Randwick. It was on the side of a building, opposite a Italian Cafe, near a Real Estate. And it made me stop to really look at it!
While we were in Sydney we took advantage of walking heaps to see things we have previously missed, and to also use the Sunday Fun Day Trains, Buses, Ferries for a small fee! Which meant we got travel to Parramatta on the Ferry and on another Sunday we went to Manly!
But back to what I really want to share here~
The Artworks At Randwick :
An Ex-Jockey who rode countless winners, he helped to build the university of NSW. On the Site of the Old Kensington Race Course. He worked there as a Patrolman and finally as University Gatekeeper.
The pictures and the information – its about History. Its about who helped shape the area of Randwick and the important aspects of what those people did. I love stopping to reflect and read about the people from the area, it connects you to the real world. In a world where ever one is connected more online, it makes you stop and think.
The Artworks At Randwick, make sure you stop and have a look – you will see the People of Randwick and how much they did to shape the town.
The Elders of Randwick – you will see who helped to shape the town. And what they did for the community.
I almost walked past this wall, without even looking at. Then I stopped, stood back, and had a good look. It will make you realise that we are all part of this world, and we all are connected by one thing – wanting to help each other.
It will also make you realise that life is about more – about more experiences, more connections, more moments, more time, giving more. being in the moment more – its about less stuff and living more.
The Artworks At Randwick.
We also have Walked the Streets of Redfern the other day. With the Sunday Fun Day Cheap fares on the Trains, Buses and Ferries on the Sunday we went into The Powerhouse Museum. Kyle had the best time – will share that soon!
Stop.
Take it in.
Read It.
Find out who helped shaped the town.
Its history. Its life.
Have you been to Randwick?
Cheers
