The Best Things In Life

Today I was given the best shock of my entire life! It was a good shock…my oldest son decided to surprise me with turning up for a visit…a visit that he did not let anyone know about beside his Grandma! He rang the other day and had it arranged…he got the time off from work, and brought his train ticket. Then arranged to be picked up from the train station. The Best Things In Life is when things happen for no reason, and no one is expecting them to happen.

Working Online At The Time

The Best Things In Life are kidsI was busy uploading a video to YouTube this afternoon when I hear Grandmas car come back from Town. Then within a few minutes I hear a voice that sounds so much like our oldest son…saying “Hello Stranger”…at first I thought that I was dreaming! I was thinking to myself…”gee how long have I been working online without a drink of water” – far too long if I can hear Haydens voice! Then I thought it must be Zachery playing games with me…but I look up and there is Hayden! I screamed and jumped up quickly – straight into the biggest bear hug I have ever had in ages….gosh he has grown since I last saw him.

Crying Far Too Much

I was over the moon with emotions..so much so that I was crying far too much to ask him any questions. I did get out “OH my gosh, how did you get here, what are you doing here…I thought you were working today”!! The Best Things in Life are the best surprises from kids! And I was so lucky to get one today….

Over the next three days I am going to be spending as much time with him as possible. We are heading into town tomorrow as we have to buy a Formal Jacket and Tie for his last lot of Navy Interviews…and then I  just want to hang out with him! He has to return back to his friends house Saturday morning…until then I am going to appreciate what I have, all that I have got and say THANK YOU to the powers that be for providing much needed time with our oldest Son.

Needing Your Comments

For this post to finish – I am doing something different….in honour of all Children all over the world…could you leave a comment below here about something (anything) that your children (kids) have done for you to show them that “The Best Things In Life” (and here is where you add your sentence!)…..for example “The Best Things In Life is when my kids surprise Me!”

I am dedicating this entire post to my oldest son Hayden Wood – you are amazing! I love you more than I ever tell you 🙂

Love from you Mum

Beautiful. The best things in life is on mothers day when the kids all pile onto our bed and give me their homemade cards and presents with a cup of tea. I love reading their messages in the cards.

    Enjoy your weekend.

The best thing is life is the awesome gift of life itself. I still remember the births of each of my four daughters and the blessings I had received to nurture them and help them to grow into responsible, caring adults and that is just what I did and that is just what they became. I honestly, have a wonderful, close relationship with all of my daughters. I now have 8 grandchildren, 4 girls, and 3 boys, the last one born on July 4, 2011. What a joy and delight they are also. What more could a mother ask for. I am truly blessed!

The Best Things In Life for me are… getting unexpected kisses from my son who is now aged 6 months (today!). He grabs me by the cheeks and kisses me with big wet sucking! So special xx

The best thing in life with my two boys is running amok with them and being a big kid. My second childhood is amazing!! When is the last time you…. jumped on a trampoline?…. ate a bowl of icecream without using your hands?… flew a kite?….climbed a tree?…. made sailboats out of recycled goods and floated them down a stream in a race? Yep, I have a good life 🙂
