So the rain came, and boy did it keep on coming. It was not helpful with Getting Our Bedford Comair Ready.
It was like it was never going to stop…under neath our house we were so lucky – we had a swimming Pool and did not even know about it. The real estate agent was surprised with our home grown swimming pool and wanted to charge us more rent!!!
The Big Wet Has Delayed Us
With all the rain we have had David is getting behind with his painting in the bus, which means our Motorhome is not going to be ready to leave late January. We will being leaving early February instead. The Big Wet Has Put Us Behind, and sure caused a tidal wave under our house. Luckily David had a funny feeling about how high the rain was getting so he grabbed all of his tools, and everything that was under there. He brought it all up to the back veranda – spreading tools everywhere 🙂
Here Is The Effect Of The Big Wet
What the Big Wet Means To Our Plans
The Big Wet Has Put Us Behind with everything…..from selling all of our furniture, packing up our house, giving my two weeks notice at work, getting the bus back together so it looks like a bus!! It’s amazing how much a bit of rain can do….but then we are so very lucky compared to Brisbane. My heart, my thoughts, and my prayers go out to the families that are affected by the floods and I so wish that everyone is now safe, and the worse is over. It is amazing how tough us Queenslanders are – something like this only makes our community stronger. May all those that have passed away Rest In Peace forevermore. May all those that are affected stay strong and receive all the support that they need.
Our Departure Date Is Now….
With everything that has happened (oh and I have to keep the house cleaned because the owners have it on the market!!!) The Big Wet Has Put Us Behind so our departure date is now set for February Saturday 5th. We will be giving in our keys for our rented house around Friday 4th February, and staying in a caravan park. My last shift work (ever!) is on Tuesday night 1st February. I will never ever do shift work again 🙂 I do believe our bodies are not made for shift work.!! Wednesday I will be catching up on sleep and then Thursday/Friday we will be cleaning and packing up our house.
Not sure how we are going to get the Bus up to Bundaberg, the family car, the ute and the truck of furniture but we will work it when the time comes! I do believe that everything is going to fall into place when its meant to. Not sure why I get these feelings but sometimes I have this amazing feeling that “Hey Everything is going to be ok” even though The Big Wet Has Put Us Behind!
So looking forward to showing you an updated video of the bus………David has put in the wardrobes, and the overhead cupboards above our bed plus the bedside draws. I must say it sure looks nice even though the wardrobe is still far too small for my liking 🙂
Until next time – please stay safe where ever you are around Australia.
Where Are You?
Does It Rain Like That Where You Are?

New Life on the Road
Here’s hoping the floods will subside quickly and all of Queensland becomes a lush and flourishing oasis! Will the big wet change your roadtrip plans? As in which direction/distination you were heading? Best of luck!
Hello Jody,
We will be heading up to Davids parents place to finish off the bus. Then we hope to head South, our boys would love to see snow and I have family in Canberra. Not sure which direction after that but will follow the weather. If its warm we will be there, if it is not raining we will be there 🙂
So glad that the land will turn green from all of the rain, but a bit of sunshine from now till early February will be fantastic!!
Cheers
Lisa
