So we packed up our house, sold most of our furniture off and stored the rest. Then the fun starts….we hit the road and The Journey Begins! Or so we think…….
How The Packing Went
I was so shocked with how much I still had left in each room, in each cupboard, under the house and even in the boys cubby house!
David picked up the truck on Tuesday morning and packed our house into it, taking it on the road Wednesday morning up to Bundaberg. Then he had to bring the truck back in the same day! Yep that’s 10 hours of driving in one day, plus having to unpack the truck. Then we had to clean. I cleaned all day Wednesday, all day Thursday, all day Friday and was still cleaning right up to Saturday afternoon. We were told by the Real estate that it had to be cleaned for the inspection, so I was over the top with trying to make our house extra clean!
Leaving Glasshouse Mountains
We so wanted to leave early on Saturday morning but we did not realise how much still needed to be cleaned, packed and dealt with before The Journey Begins….I also had an Internet Webinars that I wanted to listen to so we were not able to leave until after 5.00pm. That was far too late for my liking, and David was concerned with how he would go with traveling late at night with Our Bedford Comair Motorhome! Actually I was also concerned with how he was going to go with driving after having four 15 hours days. Yet we were determined to hit the road, we did not want to wait another day 🙂
Driving Along The Highway
Once we left Glasshouse Mountains a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders….I was grinning from ear to ear. Would Life on The Road continue with out Motorhome?
No longer where we tired down to a house, a job, a boring lifestyle! We were on the road – The Journey Begins and there was lots going through my mind….oh boy what have we done? That was only one of the questions that I had to keep squashing down. There was also the “oh please let us get there safe n sound”. Both David and I must have really good guardian angels because we drove really well, only stopping at Forest Glen for Petrol and Maryborough for Dinner. Mind you dinner was not till 8.20pm which was so late it was not funny. Amazingly the boys did not complain.
Here is a Short Movie of us following David in the bus!! (So Sorry about the camera moving around too much!!)
Arriving At The Other End
Once we arrived at our destination we were so wired up and so relieved that we both let out a big sign and piled out of the car/bus into our waiting families arms. It was actually a month since I had seen my second boy and fourth boy because they had been staying at David’s parent’s house to make moving easier for us. Not sure how they lasted that long, not sure how I lasted that long without seeing them – there was a lot of phone calls in that time!
Working Out We Have No Internet Coverage
Once I caught up on much-needed sleep and tried to get back into blogging/facebook/twitter and the Internet….we worked out that we are staying in an area that does not have Internet Coverage. We brought a Telstra Broadband Next G Wireless USB…but it will not work anywhere on the property. So today we head into Bundy and go to the Library to use their Free Internet Hot spot….to find my computer is flat and Davids goes flat shortly afterward.
There are a few spots that have power points but they are all taken! While we were in town David pops into Telstra and manages to pick up a Magnetic Base External Antenna – hoping that we are able to mount it onto the roof of the house for Internet coverage…..BINGO I now have the Internet once again.
