We are back! From the most amazing magical weekend ever. So wished we had more time to stay at Theresa Dam Camping Grounds and explore more of Clermont. Maybe soon we will take our Motorhome there, and spend longer Relaxing.
** We have been back! Check out the Camping At Theresa Creek Dam to see how amazing our experience was! Can you guess what I was able to do while there?
First Camping Trip
I have been so very keen to try camping ~ me a non camping kinda girl! And I have to say I am hooked. It was the best weekend ever, and I am now planning our next trip. Maybe it was such a great weekend because of where we stayed
There are so many places to stop and see in Australia! Can be a bit confusing, so here is 10 Australian Towns to Visit for a Geniune Outback Experience.
Theresa Dam Family Friendly Camping Grounds
Not sure what to expect when we arrived, but sure was super happy with what we found! After sitting in the car for three hours our boys were keen to stretch their legs and explore. Sure was amazed that the Camping Grounds was so well set up – 2 playgrounds, 2 shower/toilet blocks (from what we could see ~ think there was more!), 1 toilet (Composting Toilet) Block closer to where we set up, and then the access to the dam (via fishing, swimming)!
When We Arrived ~
Our boys were so keen to head off to the playground, while we went into the office!
The best feature of all ~ was the price. Only $10.00 per night for David and I ~ no price for the kids! It was also big enough to take Motorhomes, Caravans, Camper Trailers and Tents. There were so many people coming and going over three days were there. And everyone was so very friendly.
FREE Movie Night Saturday Night
On Saturday night everyone was treated to a free kids movie ~ Puss n Boots. It was such a great treat to sit down on Beach towels (yep forgot the Picnic Rug as well as many other important items!) and watch a movie altogether.
Nicholas And Kyle ~
Standing on the Playground Equipment to watch the movie
The next best feature was the lack of electricity. No power means no lights. No lights means early bed. We did have torches but we still made an effort to head to bed early. Which did mean early rise the next morning! But that was ok as our boys had their breakfast and then went back to their beds until 8.00 am this morning (gosh was that good!)
Would We Go Back Again?
We hope to take our Motorhome back with us….and stay a little while before heading down south. It will mean a detour stop but we loved our short break at Theresa Dam and would love to spend some more time there with all of us!
Seat Waiting at the Waters Edge ~
Looked so inviting.
Location :: Theresa Creek Dam is located 22 km south-west of Clermont in central Queensland.
Yep there were people swimming in the dam yesterday!
Water :: There is no drinking water as such, so you need to take your own. There was a small water tank which provided water, but it’s not to be used for filling up Caravans/Motorhomes!
Limited Drinking Water ~
Not for filling up!
Showers/Toilets :: There is showers, which while were clean where not the best shower blocks around. However I do like how everyone had quick showers so there was still hot water available.
Cafe :: Located at the Dam is a cafe ~ where you can buy meals, snacks, drinks, and many other related items (sunscreen, t-shirts etc!)
Dam Fine Coffee
Family Friendly :: We were made to feel so welcome when we arrived, and we noticed children everywhere having fun!
Fires :: there were numerous fire pits around Theresa Dam Camping Grounds ~ all you needed was fire wood!
Bonus Features :: Birds! The birds arrived for breakfast on both mornings, and we enjoyed feeding them.
Our Breakfast Visitors~
Arrived each morning for yummy breaky!
BBQ Facilities :: There are few BBQ’s plus Tables/Chairs that are under cover.
Our Family Feedback :: we loved our three Days 🙂 Would we go back again? Sure would.
Have You Stayed At Theresa Creek Dam?
Cheers

New Life on the Road
Yes, Marty and I have stayed there for a week. We took our small boat which fits on top of our 4WD Ute and towed our old caravan. It is a beautiful place. We could have our van right on the water, down the end closest to the dam wall.
When Marty retires we will no doubt spend more time there.
Glad you all had a good time.

Hi Jan,
It is one amazing place! Bet you had fun in your boat ~ and yeah I reckon spending more time there would be ideal 🙂
Cheers

There is nothing like a beautiful day at the beach, the sand, surf and the rays of the sun beating down on your body. Beach visits have been popular with people of all ages, and are as much of a family activity as they are an individual excursion. No beach visit is complete without spending some timer relaxing on the beach with some suntan lotion on and getting that perfect tan. .

our boys love the beach – it helps with their endless energy!!
We swagged it for two days,,down at the water edge as far away from everyone as we could get .
10 paces to the water with my kayak. Simply wonderful paddling, lots of different water birds.
This is a very nicely gift from the shire to camping travellers.
This is a VERY good destination and a very inexpensive stay.
Full marks . You could easily spend days here.
Thanks. Million we loved.
