Seen as how this week has been a very long one I thought I would share Things I Know About Headcolds!
All About Headcolds
This one is strong. Its taken hold of all of us. And its not letting go. Cameron has had to take a week off from School (which is not a big deal), I have been so tired that I am trying to keep on going.
David has even taken a night off from work, and is still trying to shake it.
Normally we bounce back really quickly with Headcolds as we use Natural Ways of healing. We have not been to the doctors for any headcolds/illnesses since Kyle was little – considering he is now seven years of age its been about six years! We dont go because we learnt from Don Tolman that listening to our own bodies is the only way to fix within.
Things I Know ::
The last time I went to the doctor was for Kyle’s Broken Fingers, and our oldest son Jumping into a ceiling fan while it was going. And that was via the emergency department at Bundaberg Hospital (it was an emergency ~ not an appointment!). Even then we used Natural Ways to heal Kyle’s fingers instead of antibiotics, and our older son took the “Wait and See” approach! Both were fine.
Things I Know ::
I havent got any new photos to add to this blog post! So I am including one photo from our day to the Mackay Food and Wine Festival (which I need to blog about!)
At the Mackay Food n Wine Festival ~
Never ever seen anything like these two characters….they were digging in the dirt loking for things that were buried. They were licking what they found, and not once did they talk? It was really weird!
What This Week Has Been Like
Monday :: Early Monday morning I cashed in my gift certificate and had a DEEP massage with “2 Deadly Hands” owner. And I still have the bruises to show for it! Luckily I had our regular Monday Featured Travel Blog Post as I was too sore to think about blogging!
Cameron and Kyle both came down with the Headcold, so Cameron stayed home from school. Kyle is back homeschooling (yippeee!)
Tuesday :: Helped out the Caravan Park with cleaning cabins. They are so busy this time of the year. Still have sick kids (our other two boys had it last week!) and had a slight melt day with finding ants in the back wardrobes, mice in the kitchen cardboards and having to think about cooking! It was all Too Much.
Wednesday :: Now David and I come down with it. David woke up in the afternoon and was that bad that he called in sick. He has not ever taken a day off work because of being unwell. It was a first for a very long time 🙂
Thursday :: We went into the QME Mining Expo and had heaps of fun. Called into a Noodle/Sushi Bar on the way home to buy VERY spicy noodles to help with said head cold. Cameron and Kyle tried Sushi for the very first time and loved it. Zachery and I both had “Medium” hot spicy food….burning our lips spicy!
Friday :: Helped with cleaning again. So foggy in the head that I stuffed up making silly mistakes and having to go back and re-do nearly everything that I tried to do!
Weekend Ahead :: I am taking off. Going to the beach, I am going to sit in the warm sun, soak up the beach salt water and not move for about an hour at least! Taking the younger two who LOVE to build sandcastles, a good book, lots of water and a beach towel.
Things I Know ::
Luckily I am not into drinking too much (with the week we have had!)….otherwise I would be a little bit too drunk right this minute! As it is I am addicted to Chocolate and have had heaps this week 🙂
Considering we have had “Chilli, Garlic, Ginger, Curry and Very Spicy” meals all week and it’s not helped with our head colds ~ The next best thing is the beach sea water!
We have even had Lemon squeezed into water, as well as Honey/Lemon Drinks!

Sorry to hear you have all been so sick Lisa. I take horseradish, garlic and C (all in the one tablet), every day and I hardly ever get a cold. I think it helps that the kids are not little and bringing home germs. When I used to get colds and needed to function I would take a codral cold tablet (making sure I had lots of water all day). Otherwise I like cups of tea and honey and lemon. Glad I did not have to clean with a head cold, that would be awful. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Hi Jan,
sure has been interesting around here this week with having to deal with our headcolds! Not been like this in a very long time 🙂
Fingers are crossed that tomorrow beach day helps all of us out!
Cheers

I so agree with the beach day! Just let the sun bake your face. Do you ever us a nasal wash or a Neti pot. It’s helps me whenever I get a sinus-headcold. So comforting, too, even if it is a bit gross when all that “stuff” comes from your nose. Hope all of you feel better soon.
Hi Wilma,
We actually ended up doing Yard Work for the Caravan Park we are staying at! And it was such a great day ~ the sun was out in full force.
I havent heard of the Nasal Wash or Neti Pot before? Sounds like a great idea to help with getting out the yucky stuff!
Cheers

I try to ignore colds and pretend they don’t exist and can’t enter this household.
I take a regular horseradish and garlic supplement, which seems to keep them away mostly.
Other than that I like hot tea or water with lemon and honey. If all else fails I hit the cold and flu tablets.
I hope you all feel better soon and thanks for linking up 🙂

Hi Dororthy,
Normally we dont have any headcolds or any sickness. Its really strange how unwell we have all been lately. We are all having lots of garlic and honey as well as spicey food to help us out!
Cheers
