I was looking back through our Blog Posting from December/January/February and can’t believe that I didn’t share our visit to the Town of Seventeen Seventy {and Agnes Waters}. Not sure how I forgot to share that great trip because we actually meet up with Kyle’s Best Mate and his family.
The day was really weird – it was raining where we were staying, but as we were driving towards the town it was getting hotter and hotter. I do remember burning {very sun burnt and sand burnt feet} that day, even sitting in the shade with a Beach Towel covering my shoulders. Next time we visit I will remember to wear a Long sleeve cotton shirt!
The View Was Worth It ::
One day {soon} I want to go back and do the long walk, checking out the tracks along the headlands.
The view of the beach reminded me so much of Eden New South Wales, mind you the heat let me know we were not down south but up north Queensland. I still below that the south coast of New South Wales can not beat any beaches up north {sorry Town of Seventeen Seventy}
I can’t believe the colours in the rock behind Kyle – Glad I have this picture to remind me of how beautiful this visit was.
I can’t remember why Cameron had a very sore chin that day? He must have hurt himself while playing, glad he healed fine without any scars!
After walking along the “Lookout” we all decided to head to the beach so that the boys could all swim – so glad Kyle was wearing his “Red Hat” cause I could easily find him in the water no matter where he was!
After the swim we filled up our bellies with “Fish and Chips” or I think we had “Chicken and Chips” from the town Petrol Station. Then we headed to the bigger beach, the one with the sand dunes! But I was silly and I didn’t take a picture of what the beach was called…I think it was in Agnes Waters? Or maybe we still were in the Town of Seventeen Seventy.
I do know this – Don’t. Wear. Sandals. Down. To. This. Beach. The sand is way beyond hot and us Mama’s burnt our feet cause the sand got trapped underneath as we were walking. I still remember that burnt feeling, and days afterwards it was still tender walking.
All of the six boys were having way too much fun, riding down the sand dunes on Boggie Boards, or even running down it full on. I am not sure how tough their feet are, but they must be very tough cause they didn’t have shoes on the whole time. And gee did they have fun.
Kyle’s Best Mate is such a sweetie, and his Mama – she is such a fantastic Mama to her three sweet little men, I love spending time with them all.
What us Mama’s didn’t realise was that David {Kyle’s Daddy} was standing behind us, pulling funny faces so that they boys kept on laughing and couldn’t stop. Melt my heart moment/memories.
Even though Kyle and Oakley only went to Prep {First year of Primary School} they are still great mates, Kyle talk ts about his “Best Friend” all of the time. Must try and catch up with them sometime soon….now that we are settled with all of the stuff that we had to do on the Sunshine Coast I can start to make plans to meet up with our friends/family soonish.
I still love Eden and even Ulladulla – actually even Wollongong – beaches way more then the beaches in Queensland. I am not sure why but they are way prettier down south compared to up north! Then again I do love Rainbow Beach – guess I just love Beaches.
Have You Been To Town Of Seventeen Seventy?
What did you think of it and Agnes Waters?
{thanks sent to Kyle’s best mates family for letting us meet you all up there that day, we had a blast}
Cheers
Lisa
