We meet the most amazing family while we stayed at Theresa Creek Dam, even though we only spent one weekend there many months ago , we had kept each other’s details.
Its really weird but David kept saying to me (along our way to the dam) “That we are going to meet someone/another family who we are meant to connect with”. Universe once again heard him….I now tell him to think BIGGER when asking for something!
Perfect Location ::
While we were driving to Mt Samson we got questions from our boys “How can there be acreage out here, yet its so close to Brisbane”. David and I smiled cause we knew that its possible to have at least 5 acres and still be close enough to the city/shops cause we used to look at Samford/Mt Samson many years ago and dream about living there.
When we arrived (later than we had planned!) it was really quite and the house was tucked away behind trees/fences! I was starting to wonder if we had arrived to the right location cause there wasn’t any Kids noise and it seemed like no-one was home.
Yet we walked through the gates, to the pool area and we saw two smiling faces! Visiting a gorgeous family on the most amazing property made our weekend the best ever!
They have five children, two dogs (one is a puppy), five acres and the perfect location for any childhood dreams. From cubby houses to motorbikes, swimming pool, dam, entertainment/play room, go-karts, bikes, toys galore and more.
Our boys didn’t know what to do first!
Playstation?
Swimming Pool?
Riding Bikes?
or even sharing their own Samsung Galaxy Tablets – sharing what games they have from the “Google Store”.
We suggested the swimming pool before lunch, so that is what they did!
They even had a slide that took them straight into the water….
We also got an inside tour of their house, the house they keep expanding with every pregnancy that they had! It was actually a joke of their house “Get Pregnant, Have Baby inside, need to add a room”!
David loves cooking! This pantry was every chef’s delight….as soon as I seen this pantry I knew that I had to take a photo.
An oven that David would LOVE to add to our Motorhome ~ not that we have any room for one!
This Sign is in their lounge room ~
and its so us!
A four poster bed ~
one that the man of the house built
and the lady of the house loved.
The fabric wrapped around the posts made it complete.
Play Room ~
Set up for DVD’s, XBox, or TV!
Like I said it was a place set up for any kid to enjoy.
The best part was David got to relax away from the Motorhome – away from its lack of power issues – away from its renovations that never seem to end. We talked and talked for hours…not even realising the time!
Walking around the property we were treated to many wonderful surprises – I never realised the “Man of the House” loved Motorbikes, nor did I realise they had their own school room.
It was a shed that was converted into a class room so that the five homeschooled children could enter, create their own art works, and leave it there to come back to whenever they wanted.
Basically it was a dream home for any Mum, any Dad (the Mans Shed was HUGE) and for all children. We even stayed for dinner, leaving really late at night….actually if we didn’t have to get back to our Motorhome so that David could go to work the next day, I reckon that we would have kept on talking and stayed the night.
Gorgeous Family :: Perfect Location – Friends forever more.
If we had more time we would have taken them up on there offer to park our Motorhome on their acreage, but because we need to be down South we will have to take a rain check. We are hoping (Dave, I and our Boys) that they will be able to meet up with us down South somewhere for a snow trip sometime this year?
Thanking you Gorgeous Family (you know who you are!) for our visit, our lunch and our dinner!
You guys are my inspiration.
*** We just visited our Friends again and Loved how they are now Homesteading With Style {in Australia}
Cheers
