Today was Anzac Day. For many years we have attended either the Dawn Service or the 10.00 am service (or both). This year we decided not to wake up super early, and not to go out of our way to head into Wollongong for the later service. Sometimes Wollongong Car Parking Spots are really limited when busy and David rarely gets a day off to spend with us.
We Needed Today
David and I are really feeling a lacking of time to together lately. Yes we have had One Date night but that is it. Its either Kids, Cleaning up our Motorhome, Working, Kids, or even more Kids to deal with.
Then there is late night emails to deal with, blogging and social media late at night ~ for the days that I am out n about and not able to get on the computer.
So most nights we both fall into bed exhausted, asleep with in minutes and then woken up to the same old same old. Bit like ground hog day around here.
With a later start to the day I made the decision to get out n about with site seeing. We also had three boys full on bickering and I thought an escape day would end it all.
Samsung Galaxy 4 Review ::
I still need to share the Review of the Samsung Galaxy 4 Phone but because I am not able to transfer the photos/Videos onto my computer until we buy a Blue Tooth Device I thought an escape day would be far better.
I so wanted to explore a place we haven’t been to before. And I really wanted to go Bush Walking.
David wanted whatever, he wanted a day without kids fighting and a day together.
So we headed out the door……driving to Jamberoo to get out and walk around.
Then we got back on the road driving up to Barren Grounds National Park. There we decided to take the shorter walk – The Illawarra Lookout 2Km Turnaround track.
Next time I would love to go earlier and do the Longer Walk. I think we need to work our way up to the bigger walks!
The view was so very worth it. The drive was what we needed today, and what we will be planning more of. Its good to get out n about – showing Cameron and Kyle the local bushwalking areas. They learnt about their animals to look out for, the flowers in the area and what birds would be flying around.
Walking and looking around ~
Learning about the Natural Environment.
Once we returned to the car we drove on further to the “The Famous Robinson Pie Shop“. It was a good move because the Pies are so very yummy, actually I preferred them compared to the Freddo Pies!
Cameron had Steak & Mushroom, Kyle had his usual – Sausage Roll, David had the Chunky Beef, I had the Chilli Chicken.
For Dessert we decided to try the “Rocky Road” – sharing two slices between the four of us.
After tummy’s were full we headed back on the road to see where to go to next….
The Big Potato ~
Robertson is Known for it!
Ending our day at Robertson Cheese Shop – probably not a good move because we spent money buying yummy cheese, roasted chest nuts and natural organic Licorice – or I guess a good move because it was all yummy treats!
Next to the Robertson Cheese Shop was the antique store – where I drooled over the most gorgeous gifts ever. Winter Jackets, Bed Pillows, Puzzles, Kids Clothing, Inspirational Signs, Antique Furniture, Rocking Horses….yeah I spent way too much time in there looking around.
Our boys had enough looking around (with only looking, no fingers touching!!) so from there we headed to the Robertson Park. For much needed play time. Sitting there David and I got time together, to talk, to dream, to plan our trip from here to Western Australia (wishing), and to talk about our future. It was so good and we needed today for us.
Driving home to this Gorgeous Sunset ~
Sun going down as we finish a great day.
We need to find a way to have more us time.
Not sure how.
Not sure when.
But just know we do!
And we need to find time to experience more of our surrounding area before the end of the year is here, and we drive on outta here…..itchy feet driving me mad!!
What Do You Do For Couple Time?
How Do You Find Time To Be Together As A Couple?
Our marriage is needing time to grow stronger again, and we are needing fun family times together instead of ground hog days!
Thanking you for following our journey.
Cheers

New Life on the Road.
I’ll see if my comment is accepted.
Totally understand your need to escape – I needed ANZAC day too. We spent it with friends on the water near a deserted beach … it was like heaven – i need heaven every now and then – it also made me think a little of the real meaning of ANZAC as some rum was drunk for the soldiers (sucked through a timtam) – i didn’t have any – but it was good to remember, and be thankful.

It was good to explore a new area. Couple time would be good – now to find a baby sitter 🙂
We try to have our evenings free together. Turn the TV off or stop working on the internet. If we can we love to go out for a movie. Family time is important too though – we love doing day trips on the weekends when we can.
