Lately I have been trying to find my blogging voice! Trying to work out what New Life on the Road is all about 🙂 That has led to a lot of self discovery and a lot of questions….one of them is What Can I Do For You?
Where Are We Going Wrong?
It’s not that we are going wrong – its more about what can we do right by you? What Can I Do For You that will make a difference?
Giving You A Chance To Tell Us What You Want!
Photo From Melbourne – Santa Workshop at Santas Square!
Here is what New Life would like to do for you:-
- Share hints and tips on how to live in a Motorhome
- Share the best of the best cities around Australia
- Share experiences our family embarks on – like Zachery going skydiving! (nuts if you ask me!)
- Show you that it is possible to travel with family
- Share our different way of homeschooling style
- Share photos that other amazing travelers send in – so that you can travel around the world
- Connect with other amazing bloggers to learn more about blogging and travelling
- Share Product Reviews
- Share our family day-to-day life
Did You Know About Brisbane Upgrade?
We sure do – David had trouble finding me the other night at the airport!
Is there something that I have left out?
We are also changing our settings behind the scenes! If you do want to receive notifications of when we are blogging then you will need to sign up for our RSS feed.
To sign up to the RSS feed you can use the button above this blog post or even the little man on the left hand side of the home page (the one that is reading the book!)
Our Next Move
Our next step will be to upgrade the look of our blog site! It wont affect how we will be sharing our blogging voice. It will be more user-friendly – so that you can benefit from the changes. We would love you all to be a part of our new design.
Here are some of our ideas
- Keep the Same image of Sydney Harbour – the one that we already have but slightly changed!
- Add a wider middle section (where you are reading right this minute!) so our words will read smoothly
- Add another side bar for others to be included on our site
- Take on board regular posting each week so that you will know what is going to be posted on certain days eg – every Monday we will be sharing “Best Places To Live In The World“
Can you please share what you would like changed or added here to New Life On the Road?
Cheers
Lisa
Great question, Lisa!
Where is that cool photo of the house/garage from???
Lina@MothersLoveLetters recently posted..Before You Speak
Hi Lina,
Thanking you for dropping in! That house is Santas Workshop which is in Melbourne! I was there over the weekend courtesy of Nuffnang – you can read more about that here – https://www.newlifeontheroad.com/magical-stay-at-tolarno-hotel-st-kilda/ and how I won the trip – https://www.newlifeontheroad.com/sharing-my-favorite-schweppes-cocktail/

I have noticed you trying out different angles for the site, I think you can sometimes loose sight of just how amazing you and your family are. Even though you are stopped in one place for a bit I’d like to hear more from YOU, how you manage and cope with life on the road. When you stop for a prolonged period do you integrate into the community, what’s that community like and how do you relate?
Everything you mention sounds great, just don’t loose sight of the amazing fact that you are a family who dreamed a dream and are now living it…Brava!!
As for the design I’d like the categories / pages up higher I always have to scroll to find them so I can take a look at your posts, or check out your about page etc. I think you could put something more interesting than Privacy and Terms on your signpost at the top of the page, I love the signpost and I always look at it first, you could use it to let new readers know about your blogging skills etc, most new readers want to know about you and your story!!
I love how you’re always on the go and looking for new ways to expand with the blog and in life… and I love that we met through blogging!! Here’s to a bigger and better 2012~
ciao bella
love lisa x

Only my personal opinion, but I would drop the Sydney Harbour image and make it more about you guys and the adventures you embark on. #JustSayin

Hmmm, bit of infrastructure happening in Brisbane I see? This is a good sign.
Hi Sean,
Major works happening at the Airport in Brisbane! Funny because David couldnt find the entrance to the airport from the car park, and I couldnt find the carpark!
Cheers

Hi Lisa
You are not wrong about the changes in Brisbane, I live here often go and every time I go to the city I am confused and don’t bother with your GPS unless you have updated it before you leave home.
As for the airport Well it has been like that for over 12 months I often go there to pick up and drop off family members and even I am confused every time I go.
So David don’t feel bad you are not the only one

Hi Annabel,
Thanking you for the great ideas and feedback! I have blogged about our Motorhome, and showed photos before – but I think that I will set up a page for it so that our regular readers and new readers can see our home on wheels.
Love the ideas of finding our niche – with the ideas of sharing about Travelling in Australia in our motorhome while homeschooling!
Cheers

Hi Lisa,
I am looking forward to seeing how your new site looks in the coming weeks and months. I am sure it will be awesome 🙂
The reason I like your site Lisa is because you are genuine, you care and you blog about what happens in your life – highs, lows, concerns, bewilderment, questions and much more and then you share what you have experienced with everyone.
Love the fact you are living your dream and inspiring other people.
Have you thought about blogging about some of the interesting characters you meet in your travels.
Enjoy 🙂
