The other day I checked out something! It is a chance to have a holiday courtesy of aswering a question, a holiday that is going to take you on places that you could only dream about!
Asking For a Holiday That Is “Vitamin Me”
Its funny but I have trouble asking for something for myself….ask for my kids or my family and that is a different story. I guess it’s a Mum thing – because I put all of my needs last when I am with my family.
Yes I dream Big all of the time – usually my dreams are about my family….what would my boys like, what would my hubby like? So to write about “Vitamin Me” sounds a bit weird…but I like the idea of asking for something that I love – Travelling.
If you could give me a magic wand and let me chose where to go to (anywhere in the world) I would be hard up choosing.
Only because our bucket list is so very big! I guess it comes back that “Day Dreaming” times when I was at school and I would get into trouble because I would be dreaming about what my life is going to be like, instead of doing my school work.
What Would You Do If You Were To Win A Holiday?
What If You Were Given 5,000 dollars (Courtesy of Queensland Tourism) and a choice of where to go – your destination is something that you decide? Not in money value, but in experience value….now can you see the dilemma I am in….please help me decide what to do for “Vitamin Me Experience”*
Ok let’s get a bit serious here – Lets get to the finer details of what the experience would mean for New Life on the Road!
David and I have been married for over 16 years, we have five boys and we have never ever had a Honeymoon. We got married, had one night to ourselves in a hotel, and then it was back to life. We already had one son and was planning to move from NSW to QLD for work commitments.
In the Clouds Dreaming Away
Come Dream with us!
This competition also reminds me of that time that anyone and everyone could apply for the “Best Job In The World Competition” – do you remember that one…..where you could enter and be chosen for the job of representing Tourism Queenslands Global Tourism Ambassador?
I think that guy from England (the wonderful Ben Southall) won that amazing job?
Asking For Your Help To Choose The Best Vitamin Me Experience!
To be given free range of chosing one experience I am so going to need your help (remember we are dreaming here so we can dream as big as we like!)
Trying to share more on this amazing experience…
Remember I also love to share our experiences with you so lets pretend about where we could take you…..
Here are the choices that we could take you on:-
1. A naughty weekend at the GoldCoast? Maybe you would like to be drinking cocktails – while watching the sun go down. Remember this is a dream holiday – with no kids…..imagine what fun you could have!
Staying at the Goldcoast?
Sipping Cocktails!!!
But if we did chose this one, would what we do at the Goldcoast? Come on you don’t want to know all of our secrets do you?
2. Maybe you would like to visit the hottest city in Australia? How about trying out Brisbane and seeing the different lifestyle – it’s a different place when the sun goes down and the lights are turned on! Seeing 48 Hot Spots would be a blast.
Sun going down…
Time to Party?
3. Now I really like this idea – Going to Tropical North Queensland! You could let your adventure spirit run wild with this one…..Visit the Great Barrier Reef and try your hand at water sports! Wonder what they would be like….(Dreaming Big Time Here Again!)
4. Oh gosh this one is right up our alley…our family would love this one (see I am doing it again – Asking for “Vitamin Us”!) A low-key Carvanning Adventure to Outback Queensland – taking time to explore the lifestyle of the Real Australia. This is what we have wanted for our family for so long….
Gosh now you are asking me to now decide which experience to take you all on the “ride of your life” with ????
Well really its easy for the answer to the question of which trip I would choose. Give me the choice, and the chance to dream big and you would have to know which one I would take….in a heartbeat.
The Question I ask You ~
Which Experience Would You Chose If you Were Given A Chance To Win?
Please Note that this is a competition that Queensland Tourism is holding…we are asking the universe to help us win (and you too!) but anyone could win this amazing prize!!!
Cheers
Lisa
* Please Note – I didnt know what “Vitamin Me Experience” meant so I looked at Queensland Tourism page and here they explain it better than I ever could….”Vitamin Me. It’s activated by adrenaline, wonder and excitement. Found in oysters, white wine, nature and good times. It’s the antidote to routine, an elixir for the spirit” – Now I love the sound of that 🙂
I wish you the very best of luck in winning that contest! But I have found that the intention is sometimes just as good. Case in point… I did apply for the “Best job in the world” the first time I came to Australia because I saw it as a way to fulfill one of my bucket list items…to explore the Great Barrier Reef area AND have a free place to live.
Needless to say, I didn’t win the job, but just last week my hubby and I left a 6 week housesitting gig in Palm Cove just a short distance from Cairns. We explored the Daintree, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge, Cairns and the coast all the way up from the Sunshine Coast. The home we sat was 5 minutes from the beach and VERY nice complete with air conditioning and swimming pool for those hot muggy days.
It was a dream come true… but did not happen in the way we imagined… the universe IS amazing, but it has to know what you want in order to bring it to you in the most bizarre ways!

Hi Debbie,
that stay sounds amazing….Palm Cove sounds perfect! So agree that the Universe does provide when we ask the right questions! So glad that you got to stay in such a gorgeous place for 6 weeks…perfect place to be for Xmas. Gosh the pool would have been the icing on the cake!

I am very much an ocean person.
Having said that I have been on an outback holiday (in our caravan) and it was a lot of fun, and there were lots of interesting things to see and do.
My dream Queensland Holiday would be on Lizard Island.

If it is a holiday in Queensland you have to choose then I would definately go to Far North Queensland. We lived up there for 4 years and there is so many beautiful places to see including the reef and rainforest. The Daintree is gorgeous and you would love the markets at Kuranda. Good Luck

Hi Jody,
Too many choices to be made with Vitamin Me competition! Love the idea of the great outback Australia as that is what we have wanted to show our boys for so very long 🙂
Also would love the Great Barrier Reef!

Honestly, ANYWHERE in Queensland will give you a fantastic holiday. It’s the best state in the country.
I would always pick NQ because that’s where I’m from, but the south and the outback and the coast and the big city all have their own attractions.
Good luck with the competition!
Toni recently posted..Vitamin ME

I think it would be really interesting to go right up to Cape York. I haven’t been there but it sounds like a fascinating area to visit. It would be a four wheel drive job I think.

Hi Jenny,
We havent been up north either! Well not past Mackay (hubby used to live in Cairns but that was pre-married life!) so it would be fantastic to explore an area we havent yet been to….
There are two choices for Vitamin Me and I am not sure which one we would take!
Cheers
Lisa
Easy peasy – it’s 3 or 4 for me… so not that easy really – we are spoilt for choice aren’t we?!

Welcome Back Lisa!! Glad to see you have the internet back on 🙂
They are 4 great Queensland holiday destinations to choose from Lisa.
I like the sound of Far North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling and diving the reef sounds very appealing…and maybe a bit of fishing early in the morning.
Good luck with the competition.
Cheers,

Hi Cade,
There are so many wonderful places in QLD to visit – the Vitamin Me Challenge would be so cool – I would love to pick number 3 or number 4 but then again I could easily go with number 1 or number 2 choice!
We havent been to the Great Barrier Reef – our boys would love the water sports!
We also would love the Great Australia Outback! See…too many great places to chose from!
Thanking you for your wonderful support 🙂

Great Barrier Reef would be my pick. When I think of it, the last time I was there and only time was 1970. Visited with my parents, and mum and dads best friends. They had booked a cruise around the islands and the cruise ship was over booked. We all got put on a fishing boat and we all had a great time. All these years later we all say it was the best holiday ever.
