Today its a Special Day….did you know there is a “World Toilet Day“? Nope I didn’t realise either until now….
You see living in a 10 Foot Motorhome with three of our five boys we don’t have a Toilet as such, we have tried a Porta Loo once, and it was so very smelly – like really bad smelly. That bad that I wrote about it, read our previous experience “Portable Toilet Cleaner, What Is That Smell“.
As you walked into our Motorhome you could smell it before even opening up the Shower Door. So David has been trying to work out how to add a proper Toilet to our shower but the limited space has made it impossible.
World Toilet Day ::
Here we go again…..
As we are getting ready to head North for Xmas I am going to be very brave. I am going to try another Porta Loo with a Newer Version that is meant to be less smelly.
But gee how can boys be so smelly? How can they miss when doing a wee? Its like the spray it every where on purpose.
We have access to the Caravan Toilets at the moment…..
its not that far too go unless its night time and your boys can’t hold on anymore. Lucky for them there are trees around, not so lucky for the only female on board this Motorhome….do you know how far that toilet seems in the middle of the night!
Sure Hope They Don’t Kill The Trees!!!
Our New Porta Loo comes with a Bag, with handles for easy carrying.
With instructions that say “You Must Take The Cover Off Before Use” – well that’s a No-Brainer, right? {Still wondering who actually didn’t take the cover off to use it!!!}
And it comes with Two Water Spray Spots to help wash the toilet after use.
But still I haven’t been game enough to try it. SO its still sitting there in its Carry Bag, brand new waiting until we have to use it.
As we start the process of packing up our Motorhome and put into place having “No Fixed Address” with no idea where we are going to be next year and no idea which direction we are going to take in Australia we I have to get over my adverse thoughts about our Toilet Situation. In other words I need to be grateful for what I have got….
And to teach our boys to sit down when doing a Wee so that they CAN”T miss the toilet when going. And I need to suck it up 🙂
Until then I thought that I would reflect on this….
Yeah my issues are nothing in the bigger scheme of things in life!!!
World Vision has our support when ever I can give it {We Purchased over $600 worth of Goods with the Money from a Magazine Article}, and today its World Toilet Day with everyone giving thanks to the toilet they have and the water they take for granted.
How Can You Help?
Please support World Toilet Day through World Vision, you can read more over on the World Vision Blog about how to donate money, sponsor a Child, purchase a School toilet or through donations….if we all help out in smaller ways we can all make a difference.
And here in Australia we are so very lucky to have a “Dunny” for our daily use, with water for washing our hands. Amazing how much we take for granted hey?
Did You Know It Was World Toilet Day?
Cheers
Lisa

World Vision sent out an email to let Bloggers know that today is a Special Day! And when I found out the Topic I was like “Oh Yeah I am so in on that”. Cause you know how much I love to support World Vision and how much fun I have had with trying out a Porta Loo 🙂
I am suddenly very glad for my toilet 🙂

Yes, very interesting post. Do not know that there was this day!
Yeah I didn’t realise either 🙂
I’m always so grateful to have a clean, sanitary toilet! I did not of this day so I’m flushing now to celebrate belatedly, Lisa! 🙂
