From Ban Ban Springs we stayed over night in Toowoomba. The next day we visited Toowoomba Japanese Gardens and Picnic Point Toowoomba we decided to head to Yarramalong Weir Free Camping Spot for the nights. Its not fair from Toowoomba, and we wanted an easy afternoon of driving, with a chance to set up camp in the daylight.
Luckily we had our dinner cooked in our Thermal Cooker so it was ready that night – mind you we forgot to buy greens for it so we had “Chicken Curry” with only potatoes! It was still very yummy. And it was the very first time we have ever been in bed and asleep by 7.30pm!! Yep we were cold, tired and in bed fast asleep early – I turned off my phone before going to sleep but David forgot to 🙂
Yarramalong Weir Millimerran ::
We had our Camp 7 Book with us while we traveled, so very glad we did because we found lots of great camping spots to stay at – from Paid ones to free camping spots.
We almost drove past Yarramlong Weir Free Camping Spot, missed the turn off and was debating if we should keep going to the next town, but decided to do a you-turn and keep the plan of staying somewhere that looked nice, had a toilet and was near water.
So very glad we did because it was beyond perfect – it had everything we needed and it was by far the best night sleep we had in ages – not sure if it was the early bed time, the sound of the weir {water} or the fact that we were tired from walking around Toowoomba. Or maybe it was because we needed sleep.
Setting Up Camp ::
There is two single beds that Cameron and Kyle slept in, and we used our Campervan Mattress on the Hard Floor of the Camper trailer for David and I. It was so very comfy. We are looking forward to many more weekends away in this set up!
Watching The Sun Set ::
He was eating an orange, after doing homeschooling, watching the sunset! While Kyle was with his Dad fishing at the Yarramalong Weir.
Kyle seen the sun setting and asked if he could have my camera to take a picture. Of course I said yes, but I didn’t realise how beautiful the picture was going to be! He can have my camera more often.
As we were leaving Yarramalong Weir Free Camping Spot we noticed how dry it was, the land was based on Cotton Fields – for miles all you could see was cotton fields – so much of it! It looked a bit like snow, it was white in areas where they hadn’t picked all of it up. And both boys picked some up {along the side of the road} and still have it as a souvenir!
And lots of Silos on the Farms. I guess Millmerran Shire is based on growing Cotton?
Have You Stayed At Yarramalong Weir Free Camping Spot?
We can’t wait to go back – we hope to stay there for a few days just so we can have another good nights sleep! We travel with a few must items :: one of them is the Camps 7 Book {we used to use our Camps 6 Book}, our Scrubba Wash Bag, and our Thermal Cooker {we wished we had purchase that years ago!}
Next we share the one place I want to move to, I am not sure what the town is like, but I want to move there because of what the town has to offer – Yeah I love anything to do with helping my skin feel good!
Bundaberg to Childers to Ban Ban Springs to Nanango to Toowoomba to Yarramalong Weir Reserve
Cheers
