Our Favorite Spot In Sydney is Camping at Lane Cove National Park. We have camped there in our campervan/tents/and camper trailer. But not sure if we will ever go back because we have two dogs and because it is a National Park no pets are allowed!
We do have a few Camping Photos from our time at Lane Cove National Park. My email account had stopped working and I wasn’t able to send or receive any emails. Went into the settings and found over a 1000 photos which was taking up space. Downloaded all the good ones, deleted all the rest and now my emails are once again working.
Camping Lane Cove National Park
We love the location – and the bush walks around. We walked for ages on some of the park trails. There was one time we walked and walked and walked and still didn’t see the weir that was meant to be near by. Again we walked the other direction for ages. It was so peaceful – wished I had those photos from that day but they are lost on a computer that crashed.

Why Is Lane Cove National Camping Ground Our Favorite?
Why Is Lane Cove National Park Camping Ground our favorite location when we are in Sydney? Due to the location. Right near the train station, not far from where our sons used to live and the peaceful camping grounds.
Its so peaceful – and so hidden amongst the busy streets of Sydney. You wouldn’t even know its there!
Mind you watch out for the HUGE lizards. They are not scared to walk up and approach your tents. The colours on them are stunning. Some of them had the most orange colour underneath that I have ever seen. {wished I had a picture of the most colourful ones}.
We had that family tent in our family for a very long time! And then it wasn’t water proof anymore so we got rid of it. So miss not having a tent – but we do have swags which we are super keen to use asap. And we do travel with our car and camper trailer.
It Doesn’t Matter What You Travel In As Long As You Are Traveling
Yes he made {and still makes} his own bow n arrow to go hunting. No he didn’t really go hunting, he loves to make up games all of the time. I love that I have these memories – as these photos were lost on my crashed hard drive and I didn’t even know my email account saved them.
How Many Times Have We Stayed At Lane Cove?
We have stayed there about three times so far. With our Campervan and Tent. Then with our Camper Trailer. Each time we have loved every single minute of being there.
The Pros of Lane Cove National Park
The Staff are friendly
The laundry is clean – it is coin operated machines for washing and drying
The bathroom facility are clean
The grounds are super clean
The bush walking tracks are really easy to access and are a great way to connect with nature
There is a swimming pool and TV room
Great outdoor BBQ’s and tables to eat at
Within walking distance to the train station.
The only negative aspect is not being able to take pets!
Would We Stay There Again?
Sure if we could – but it would have to be when we travel without our dogs! Depends on when we are down that way again, and where we are going. Our travels sure do seem to take us to some amazing places.
I am so grateful that these amazing travel memories are here on New Life on the Road. One day maybe our boys will look back on them and appreciate the life we tried to give them – hopefully one day they will look at these treasured memories and remember the good times.

New Life on the Road
Hey Lisa, what was the cost of this campsite? Cool write up btw.
Jay recently posted..What is the towing capacity Australian vehicles?
Hi Jay,
Thanks for stopping here! And leaving a great comment – I can’t actually remember how much we paid, but here is Lane Cove National Park Phone number – 02 9888 9133. Maybe give them a call and they can let you know – I am not too sure about the area being affected by all of the fires that they have down that way at the moment? It might be closed due to the danger of the fires, so be sure to give them a call before heading that way 🙂
Cheers
Lisa
