When we stayed at Theresa Creek Dam and The Sapphire Gemfields we went exploring as much as possible. We went to the Clermont Museum {which I still need to share here on New Life on the Road}. As well as Copperfield Chimney and Copperfield Store.
Copperfield Chimney and Store
Its not a store that is open anymore -and its a shame you cant get to see it on the inside. But the history of what the store was all about and who was running and for how long it was open can all be found outside of the Store.
It so would make a wonderful Coffee Shop/History stop but I am not too sure how many people would stop in there to get a coffee? We would cause you all know how much we love to drink coffee 🙂
HAHA – Look at the cloud above the Chimney – it looks like its from a working chimney but it was just a cloud 🙂
We love exploring, and finding the history of areas. So if you are ever in Clermont QLD then make sure you stop in and see Copperfield Chimney and Store.
The Copperfield Chimney is behind huge fences to try and protect it from the general public, but reading the information on how it was operated and for how long, its worth a stop when you are traveling in Queensland.
We would love to go back to Theresa Creek Dam for another Camping trip, but not sure when that will be. I even took my massage table with me and I was kept super busy while there – they didn’t have a massage therapist in the town so they kept me booked which I loved 🙂
The store used to be open to the public to look around in, but is now closed – or at least it was when we were there 😉
Have You Been To Clermont?
Cheers
Lisa
