Did you all know that I love decluttering, cleaning up, getting rid of and organising items? It’s my passion. Always has been, and I never ever realised that my passion could become something to work with.
We do have a pro and cons of living in our motorhome blog post about our motorhome! It was written so long ago, but still, it applies to this very day 🙂
The last two weeks I have been watching over and over a method I didn’t even know about. I have loved watching Marie Kondo #KonMari Method. She has the most amazing approach to any home/house. She will thank it for letting her enter, and then she will start on a particular order of going through every single item to sort it out. To declutter and to make sure it’s needed before putting back into the space it needs to go.

And so now we are Marie Kondo Our Motorhome.
Again there is a certain order of what she will clean up = Starting with Clothes, Books, Paper, Komono (miscellaneous items} and then onto any sentimental items
The idea behind the method is to keep anything that “Makes You Sparkle” – so if you hold onto it and you feel like it gives you joy then you keep it.
Mind you it must be able to fit into the space of where it will go – so downsizing is a very good idea!
Seen as how I have done my clothes recently – I don’t own many items at all – there was no point in starting with my clothes.
So I am starting on our Kitchen cupboards because David is renovating the doors and the mess is there every day. Staring at me in the face.
Sorry I didn’t think to take “Before” pics of our Herbal Tea/Coffee/Herbal Medicine cupboard – lets just say it was beyond embarrassing!
The tea cupboard – I got the most gorgeous jars from Kmart for $2.00 each. They have black roses on the lid, and roses are my favorite.
The Grey and Black Storage containers are from the Discount Store, along with the larger slim jars. Very happy with how clean it looks, and how easy it is to see what’s in the cupboard.
I didn’t do all of his clothes in the exact techniques as he doesn’t have enough PJ’s or Undies to fold in the method where they will stand up by themselves nor do I have containers to put them in!
This method is really amazing – it’s given us so much more space in every cupboard with our clothes!
Now I am helping a friend with their house. We have cleaned out one room so far – so wished I had taken a photo of the difference that decluttering has done!
So very keen to get the rest of our Motorhome done. We don’t have much stuff to get rid of because I am always de-cluttering. I do it weekly with books and clothes given to lifeline, and rubbish placed in the bin or paperwork burnt off.
kyle is helping me to sort out our Motorhome storage issues. I love it when things are neat and tidy, it makes my soul sing. I feel good when I see a clean tidy Motorhome, with a place forever thing and everything in its place 🙂
I don’t like clutter, never have, never will. It’s extremely hard living with a husband who buys random stuff every week, and a kid who hoards anything and everything incase he might one day need it for something! Yeah, in other words, he collects junk, and I am forever throwing it out when he isn’t looking.
My OCD is loving #KonMari – looking forward to getting the book!

I found the same thing – we didn’t have enough tea towels or what-have-you to fold them in the prescribed Marie Kondo manner without it looking like a mess!
I am so loving the Marie Kondo Method! My kitchen {tea/coffee/herbal teas/herbal medicine} cupboard looks amazing. I did my clothes and hubby’s clothes and gosh what a difference it made!!! But yeah I since discovered that folding them in the #konmari method, and then placing the smaller items laying down looks way better when there are a few items sitting in the cupboards. I would love to declutter as a job 🙂
