We have so much wonderful news, I am not sure where to start with it all…..so I thought a vlog would be the best way to share our latest Bus Update and a secret deadline that we are working towards!
Bus Update
David has got so much done in the bus but yet it looks like so much more still needs doing! I have meet a few Travelers who are traveling around Australia (via Facebook fanpages) who have said that a Motorhome or Bus is never completed! There is always something new to add, or something to change. Its funny but a house is a bit like that – something different to add or something that needs work.
More News To Come
We have the kitchen benches in, the sink is ordered, the gas top is in, the range-hood needs to be connected, the cupboards are all re-built, the flooring and the marine carpet needs to be ordered. The new lounges are in and the foam is ready to be made into cushions, the pelmets are made with gorgeous lighting added yet I still need to make the curtains! So it is looking good but it still has a long way to go…I am sure there will be many more Bus Updates as we travel around Australia. I super keen to get on the road and so excited at all of our possibilities.
Our Secret Will Be Your Secret!
Once I do have a confirmed date and know when we need to be on the road I will let you all know with a huge Bus Update. Until then I hope to be able to clean up the Bus on the inside so that I can do another Vlog in the next day or two. I wanted to do one today but David is keen to clean up all of his tools so that it looks a lot nicer than what it looks like!! We have so many wonderful ideas and new ways to improve the bus….once its finished it sure will look different compared to what it looked like when we first brought it!
Would I Do Anything Different?
I have been asked if I would do anything different compared to what we have done! Yes and No. I would have brought a Bus that was a bit longer and had storage bins underneath. I would have brought a bus that either had one more set of bunk beds or had enough room for Bunk Beds. But I would still have brought a Bus! If I could do one thing different it would be to buy a Motorhome before our boys were in High-school because our older boy is not keen to travel.
Well thats all the news I have for our Bus Update for the time being. I hope in a day or two (or early next week) I have more information and a confirmed start date. David works really well when he has a set deadline to work towards, so my fingers and toes are crossed that the call comes through and we are on the road 🙂
Cheers
Lisa

Hello Jackie,
So looking forward to the day we move into the bus!!! As soon as we have it ready (well ready to live in) will let you know so you can come over for a coffee!!! Thanks for all of your support.

There is always a lot of work when something is worthwhile, and the preparation is so important. You will have so many experiences that you and the family will carry for the rest of your lives. Most people are content to just stay put, and miss out on some wonderful times exploring our beautiful country. Even for your eldest son, he will learn and experience things that his peers will miss out on.

Hello Carolyn,
I so agree….as an aged care nurse I have nursed many people who were in the last days and all they could say “If only…..” or “I Wish I had done….” – I so do not want to be one of those people that say “if only…” or “I wished”…., and not having my boys grow close together. I have my fingers and toes crossed that once we are on the road our older boy will enjoy it so much that he will want to keep on traveling!! Thanks for stopping at New Life On the Road.
Cheers

Hi Lisa
Looking forward to a look at the bus. We use to have a hi ace poptop, so much fun and a challenge with storage. A lot smaller hehehehehe.

Not sure if we could all fit into a hi-ace poptop!! Imagine trying to fit five boys and all of there things in that! We really need a bigger bus and we haven’t even got it packed yet 🙂
