Update *** David is no longer working for Jenny and Bruce anymore as we have moved on from the Sunshine Coast. We wish the Dream Team that are now building the Nioka Caravans all the best.
Did you ever think about how things are built? Things are made? They are built on a dream, and idea and taken from the early stages of “Thinking” to “creating” to “succeeding”. They are built cause someone has an idea and they won’t stop till that idea comes to life.
A bit like the light bulb – it was created way back in the early 1800’s by an Italian Inventor, Alessandro Volta -he developed the 1st method of generating Electricity using Voltaic Pile. And then over the years it was created by other inventors with different type of materials and soon led to one inventor in 1850 developing the idea further.
Yet some of the materials that they were using was not always cost efficient and soon more inventors used the same techniques but had to change them and improve on them!
From 1802 to 1879 many different inventors used many different materials to create the Light Bulb. In 1879 Edison filed a Patent for an Electric Lamp using Carbon Filament. In 1910 William David Coolidge {an American Physicist} improved the Company’s General Electric product with manufacturing tungsten filaments. Now days the Primary material still used in incandescent bulbs is Filaments.
So there might have been one inventor, but many have come forward to improve/change/experiment/and create a product that could be taken into the world and used so that we could all see.
Now there is A Caravan Built on a Dream. You see it started with one family on the Sunshine Coast. That one family’s dream was to use their Families Property Name for a Brand New Caravan – one that was built with a Team of Skilled men. Yet at first they had no idea how to change that dream from “thinking” about it, to even making it happen.
Let Me Share The Behind The Story ::
One of the Family members said “Just build a Caravan. Just get out there and Build it”
One of the other family members said “You can’t just build a Caravan. You Need the Drawings. You need the plans so that you can look at how to build it”.
And its like it was meant to be.
Cause one day in walked a draftsman who was looking for a career change, and who offered his services to the Families Caravan Business.
He walked in to the right business, at the right time. And he is the “first” part of the team. He draws the plans for the Caravans that are being built.
And from there many other team members who all have their “own skills” and put their own touches to the end product. From the start of the caravans – The Drawing, to the Chassis, to the Kitchen Cabinet Maker, to the Bathroom guys, to the Flooring, to the Electrician, to the Plumber, to even the Stylist. Its a team effort. And then you have the Perfectionist who WILL let everyone know what he thinks as its being built!
Can you guess whose skills are being put to the test, who is using his skills to help fix things along the way that might be wrong, who is putting into place procedures so that the next Caravan will be built to a time schedule? Yeah its David – the perfectionist who is not scared to step on people’s toes when they do something wrong, to congratulating them when they do something right – to even telling the BOSSES what he thinks when they ask for the impossible, and then doubt that it can be pulled off, and then proving to everyone that miracles can and do happen.
Mind you I am glad that he doesn’t have to build another Caravan in five weeks! Only cause we didn’t get to see him – his team did one amazing job. I went to work yesterday and I was so over the moon excited for the end results.
The Caravan Built on a Dream….
One Families dream
One Draftsman Dream
One Teams Dream
to even the perfectionist dream.
They reckon the Second van is the best on the market – and that was the feedback from other Caravan Manufacturers from the Nambour Caravan Show. There was one company who has complained about NIOKA caravans….only cause they had TOO many people hanging around {being too loud} the Two Caravans at that one stand, and not enough going to the other companies. {Not a bad thing to have happen hey!}
So I reckon David and his great team are going to be very busy. There is a Brisbane show coming up soon – one of the Caravans have already sold so they need to get onto making another one, one that everyone can’t buy so that they can have a “Show Van”!!!
AND yet the next Caravan has many more improvements going to be added – can’t wait to see it! How can something that is perfect be improved?
Its going to be a Caravan that will last the distance of travelling Australia, and one that the Sunshine Coast Family will be very proud to say “Yep that NIOKA caravan is our Caravan Built On A Dream“
Now enough of my thoughts! Here is the Pictures that say it all……
Now the Nioka Caravan is outside the Suncoast Caravan Services {company} so that you can check it out and order your own personal style van! Yep you can customize it to suit your taste – and chose the layout that will suit your travelling needs.
Its a bit like the light bulb idea – it might have been created by one inventor. But it was improved over time by different materials and different ideas by different inventors. This caravan is the same – its going to be improved over time with different materials and ideas!
So very glad that the company asked David to come on up from New South Wales to the Sunshine Coast so that he could say yep “The caravan built on a dream” is something that I am part of!
