We have been up in Sydney for the week. Its been a very long week but we would gladly do it all over again if need be. Our oldest son hurt his back in a Footy Tackle that went wrong, but didn’t actually show up his full injury until he was back at work. Its kinda of a good thing but not {if that makes sense?}
In Sydney For The Week ::
You see with being in Sydney we could help our older son as well as say goodbye to our second son! But more of that later….here is a few {too many} pics of our week in Sydney ::
Making Cupcakes on Tuesday ::
Kyle decorated each cup cake with his “Initials” on the icing, with eatable silver balls!! This is the first time we have ever made cupcakes because of their sensitive issues with food colouring and additives/preservatives….but being in a small unit for the week meant that I was more flexible with trying to keep them busy!
Wednesday At The Playground ::
We are getting good at finding playgrounds around Sydney! This one was so good because there was so much for all age groups.
He had no idea that I had the camera pointed at him…I love the pictures where I am able to capture their sweet faces all naturally.
On Thursday ::
We had to head back to Watson to the Navy Base for more Doctors appointments for our oldest son. Along the way back to his place I had to check out this…..
On Friday ::
More appointments! More waiting time so I was out there with the camera capturing the sun rising over the water….
We spent a week in Sydney helping our older son out – Driving him around, Cooking all of his meals, putting on heat packs on his back, cleaning his place, and helping out at night time with his pain.
We are glad that we were close enough to help out, just wished he hadn’t hurt himself.
David took us up on the Sunday {last weekend} and we all had dinner together, our second son came over for dinner – Pumpkin Soup.
I had been saying all last week that I wanted to spend as much time as possible with our second Woody Son before he left Sydney.
While we were in Sydney it was perfect timing….
Our Second Son Left Sydney
On the Monday our second son came over for Dinner again! I cooked Chicken Ginger Soup but I was so brain dead that I forgot the Ginger.
On the Thursday I picked up our second son and took him back with us to our oldest son place. Then I cooked a roast Chicken Dinner, which David and Nicholas drove up for….
So on Thursday night we were a family of seven. Our second son even stayed over night with us.
On Friday {today} I was able to drive our second son to the airport and see him start his New Life. He is now in Perth Western Australia for his first posting. Very proud moment, and I held it together…no tears at all!!!
But I don’t think its hit me yet that we now have two navy sons in two different locations – one in New South Wales and one in Western Australia 🙂
Tonight ::
We are back in the Motorhome for the weekend. Cameron, Kyle and I caught a train back to Wollongong this afternoon {Our oldest son has a wonderful girlfriend who is looking after him this weekend}…..we are catching up on washing, cleaning and sleeping before heading back to Sydney again on the Monday.
Our oldest just needs time to heal now – the Doctor has given him enough time off work for that to be possible. So now we wait. And we see. Sure makes you realise how much you take ones health for granted…and how easily one can get hurt playing a rough game.
How Was Your Week?
Cheers
Lisa

Out of something horrible came something wonderful. A reunion with your boys and a chance to explore a new region. Now you have a good reason to come West and explore our wonderful state.
