The other day we decided to explore a new area, and head to the Famous Robertson Pie Shop because we wanted to see what all the fuss was about!
Glad We Went To Robertson Pie Shop
Even though it was way after lunch time and we were all starving the place was packed. Such a perfect location – so many Bikies out for an afternoon ride was stopping in as well as people who were out sight seeing, locals, visitors and travelers from all over the world! At least that is what it seemed like because there was so many people there.
They do not have the variety of pies like Freddo Pies are famous for, but I think the pies taste way better at Robertson.
Sitting at the table inside gave us bird’s eye view of everyone coming and going – it seemed like all sorts of life was hungry even in the afternoon, and that everyone wanted to stop and say that they tried the pies!
There was vegetarian options up on the board, but there wasn’t any available to purchase…not sure if its because they had run out or if because they didn’t make any that day (I didn’t think to ask?)
Of course Kyle asks for his favorite ::
Wherever we go to a bakery he asks for a Sausage Roll ~
Normally with Sauce!
Very Bold Statement ~
And I like it!
We went and sat down while David was paying for our lunch! And he didn’t know where to find us..after we sat down the place became jam packed, with no where to sit, and everyone was lining up – so we kinda came in at the right time.
The Menu Board ~
Where there is way more than Pies for Sale!
He Loves Mushrooms!
Sorry the photo is out of focus!
But I still love Cameron Facial Expression 🙂
David liked how the pie was not so flaky…so yes it did drop some of the pastry but not a lot like other pies can/do!
We even were naughty and bought dessert for after our lunch! David bought two pieces of Rocky Road and we shared it between the four of us….guess we blew all of that great bush walking out of the water!!!
Â
Yep. Robertson Pie Shop will be one that we return to if we are ever up that way, and one that will be letting others know about!

Oh Lisa – I so wish I could send you one on over – its the best pie ever 🙂
I heard about this pie place when we visited The Gong. I am glad you got to try them. I bet they were wonderful. We are both pie freaks – it was the first thing we ate when we got back in the country after 3 months away 🙂
